gotta say that it feels weird... ppl please would you post what degree of turn you use and preferred steering lock... im pracicing with 360 and steering lock 32... but omg i want a bigger
wheel to it! its so small!

raised steering lock to max... ill go with that for a while... gotta see how ill get used to it...
now i have a monster headache and i need to crawl to bed to get rid of the buggeration.

360 deg rotation and 12-20 lock here.

not the same wheel, but run about 180 rotation for single seaters (lots of lock), 200-220 for gtr2 (lock @16-18 degrees) and just started fiddling with 270 on GTL, with Lock @ 28-32 degrees.

Lower rotation makes spin recovery difficult, but i like knife edge car handling, so often put up with it, hence the large number of spins in GTL... but will try 270 this evening, and see how it goes

520 with between 18 and 24 degrees rotation, also using instig8r .plr ffb files

heh now yer got me looking at me shifter knob and thinking could it be sawed off and fitted to my wheel? :biggrin:
give it a go you may be surprised , tried going down to 360 other day and it don't feel right to me somehow.

hmmm... im starting to get used to 360 with max steering lock...
it is a nice wheel, feels more accurate than black momo... im happy i bought it,
especially cos its like a new wheel, no signs of use and the pedals are way stiffer
than in my momo.

reinstalled drivers and now it works... i was driving with 900 degrees... back to learning then...

It's odd, but as an experiment, I tried the windows control panel> game controllers> Properties> settings method... and didn't load the profiler.

It worked ok, but it didn't feel quite right somehow. It seemed like the subtlety had gone, so it felt a bit woolly (like I couldn't feel the point where the rear wheels started to slide - stuff like that).

Normally I plug in the wheel, start the profiler then run the game. In theory, as long as the drivers are loaded, both methods should work the same.

Dunno, might be just me. Further experimentation required I think.

it surely is a big change.. experimenting required indeed... i might have to use the old wheel
in SJC race..

440 with lock of 20 seems ok... just gotta get used to it i guess..

Just curious. It's four months later. What did you decide on?

I use 440 with GTL, 360 with GTR2, and i change those in rfactor, but usually i never go under 360.. not
even for open wheelers.

(edit the lock completely depend on the car)

interesting, wheel set at 600 in the windows controller advanced thing, don't change it for GTR2 / GTL or any rFactor Mod, i just adjust the in car steering lock until the muscles in my arm relax and i'm working the wheel without thinking about it, if i run too high a steering lock my arm start freezing and sort of lock up, normally start at 10 then work my way up, yes and sometime you come to the first corner and just sail off the track for a burger, once it's close-ish, ie: feeling right, then the rally driving starts and if i can catch most of the slides that will normally do it for me, but i might re-adjust again once my lap times come down a bit and my driving style smoothes out.

but as with most things in GTL/GTR & rFactor everyone does there own thing and most of everyone gets round the track at a fare rate of knots, think this also effects how one persons setup might not work for you or me, but works for them.

Yeah definitely this is one of the things that are very personal.. there is no "right" setting.
