As any of you G25 users know, the G25 is a great wheel, but the weak spot in it is the shifter module.  Well, you guessed it!  After only 7 or 8 months, mine no longer functions properly in H-shifter mode.   

A couple weeks ago it started shifting into 6th when I shifted it to 4th. (Only for a second, then it would find the RIGHT gear)  Since then, it does it with 2nd (shifting to 4th instead of 2nd, or just jumping out of gear)   :grrr:

That's the BAD news...The GOOD news is that I've been in contact with Logitech Customer Support, and they were EXCELLENT.   :biggrin:  All contact was through email, and they responded to every email the SAME DAY.

I'll be returning my shifter module (only) to Logitech and they will be sending a new G25 (complete).  :biggrin:

Hopefully, Logitech will make the shifter module in their NEXT wheel INDESTRUCTABLE!  But, in the mean time, it's good to know that they stand by their customers and offer excellent support.   

Grinn.. first time i brought it back was because of the framehits and me not beeing able to resolve it.. dragged it completely back to the shop.. got a new one... then the reverse wouldn't work anymore.. i'm not opening up the shifterunit alltho it would have been a loose connection.. seems the soldering wasn't up to par.. so brought it back... dragged it to the store again got a new one.. or at least.. new one they had on the shelf. Theyll just ship it back and nothing i ever heard from it.. So basically it's the shifters that are the weakest links... i guess we all knew that just by how it felt the first time we shifted ... and the eyebrows that went up with ofcourse the smile on ones face as one was actually shifting it for real, but in shorter dimensions..

had my shifter apart a couple of times to sort out over sensitivity etc... it get's pretty mucky in there, and a quick clean and shine seems to work fine (hey... i'm a poet, and i didn't even realise!).  I have to admit, after failing to find the kids erasers, i have also purchased the little chunk of rubber from nixim to sort out the brake pedal... i'll let you know how it goes.

I received my replacement G25 yesterday.     I would have had it sooner, but with the holidays + all, I never got the shifter shipped out to them until Jan. 8th.   

I mounted the new stuff on my Bob Earl Racing VRC (Virtual Racing Cockpit) and all is working well again. 

 :think:  I wonder if they'll send me another new G25 NEXT YEAR, when this new shifter CRAPS OUT like the first one did?
