but are you ready for the next stage, these people must have steel balls or a steel door to hide behind anyway, think a few of the car sim cockpits have been stolen from fairground rides.

We'll have a nice little ceremony for you Jarkks .. lower you down with the pedals on the coffin ... a little Finlandia playing in the background... will be very tasteful I assure you ... of course while all this is going on we will have 'arranged' for the reallocation of the rest of your racing gear to the honoured membership of SJ :)

As i slide ever further towards the seemingly inevitable "Sim Racers" anorak, i have my eye on these beauty's... can't do all that picture upload crap, so have a look at http://www.clustercompany.com/website/home_eng.php

Yum Yum... only problem is, Mrs R1der is bleating atm... something about 7 year courtship... married 4 years... never had an engagement ring... diamond and emerald... blah blah blah... haven't a clue what she's on about, but it may be important... perhaps i should listen to her, instead of standing there going hmmm... yes dear, your right... hmmm

I reckon if i buy her what she's after, there is a chance these may become available to me... i don't wear jewellery, so perhaps these could be my engagement present (fat chance!)

Looks good Dave, but think carefully.. about everything, pedal layout, adjustability etc... the odds are when buying high end gear you are stuck with it for a long time :)
oh yeah... i planned well ahead and bought my woman a big ring in the beginning,
so i she is happy with it

Now im off to the postal office to get my DFP... as soon as the car arrive home..
should be less than 30 mins though..

What a woman! By took it pretty well, do you mean that she only knocked two of your teeth out? lol lol

Re: adjustability  of those pedals i fancy... according to reviews, there are infinate variations, and if you can't get 'em working, you don't deserve to have feet!

ehm.. shite.. you are aware that the 3rd pedal is an option right?   meaning this little bit of "adjustible kit" is well over 500 Euro's.... i think those little extra footplates on the G25 will work miracles for you....

but welll.. if you want to pursue happiness with a pair of pedals.. go right ahead... i wont stop you with your "Coco the clown" shoes m8... but i'm also aware you can be quite moody.... so these seem suitable for you as they dont break that easy i recon

Ehr.. Jarkko?   you can mod these easily you say?

Did i just see a rubber band going from the clutch pedal.. and one on the throttle?

make sure you talk to the mailman for spare rubberbands m8

Also.. the first pics you posted from the website where the clean ones.. where you couldn't see anything.. lol in other words, no wires running from the middle ?! of the box?

Ah well... if you got em m8, show us a pic of the adjustability of them.. say like how far forward you can let the pedals fall.
So far the best modeled pedals are those of the saitek r440.... they are floating in mid-air instead of comin out of  the floor.

cant drive em now anyways... think i'm a bit grumpy over that.. forgive me

Woof ~ woof

hope my foot can touch the clutch in the morning tho... outch

Im sure the range on pedals is well enough :)
theres stoppers in the both ends, you can move the brake pedals also horizontally where you want it... and its easy to add different "footprints" or what ever the hell its called in english..
The rubber bands or springs are just what you prefer, easy to change... ill get spares and alternatives too.. oh and elessar i cant see them pedals adjusting much :P
id like the shifter though.. (well actually not, id prefer Simgear one... or Thomas enterprises speed shifter.. a good shifter thats meant to be brutalized is the next purchase when i dare and have money next time to do such thing)

Not sure there is an English word Jarkks ... "Ah.. good retailer.. I'd like some of those rubber things you put on pedals"
"Certainly sir, you mean the...."
"Yes?..."
"Ehh... the .... sorry, we're right out of stock"

there is normally a reasonable explanation for everything ! and hope you get your pedals or confirmation from them soon.

on a lighter note, i bought hard luggage from a bmw garage in germany using ebay and i was getting a bit pissed at them, very long story anyway, managed to find the e-mail address of the car section of the said garage and sent them an e-mail in english and german, explaining what the problem was and also asking them to walk over to the motorcycle section and smack someone in the mouth, well it made me feel better and did get things moving.

fingers crossed for you

Ok i got them.
Feels so different from DFP pedals... very stiff brake, thats good.
Got some extra springs with it.. Adjusting is easy and has load of stuff
to adjust... I dont like the "foot prints", dont feel good, will fix some proper footprints soon.
These buggers surely should last, very fun to drive with a clutch... pretty damn big
improvement from my old pedals must say.

the only thing is, and i'm not being negative in anyway, is the wires going to the pots look a little bit exposed to accidental damage, but you might have removed a casing so we can see them.

what footware are you using !! you could try your iceskates, that might at least slow you down a bit ;)

Hmm took apart my pedals to get rid of stutterin, found out that couple screws on the pots were bit "loose".. and now it seems fine.. still got little stutter, but thats because im using only so small range of what the pots actually can do. heres a piccie that someone had done, got larger range in the pots accelerating it with cogwheels..
sounds like perfect solution. :)

(added piccies of couple other mods, hmm im getting the itch to start modding my pedals.)

I went out and bought proper "footprints".. Damn that it feels good now!
I should have done the change before, but didnt get around to it before.. nice addition to the pedals.
Hmmm im gonna post a piccie as soon as i find my camera cable somewhere.

Those look great Jarkko :) Hope they perform as good as they look, but I guess that's down to the owner of the feet that press them ;) lol

Did some more modding.. this time to my table.. to get the wheel out a bit more.
now i can actually adjust how far i want the pedals easily...
If you look the wheel from the top it looks like its partly floating in the air :)

Those shiny pedals.......ooweeee!

They seem to invite you: "hit me slowly hit me quick, baby do it to me one more time!"

Great job Jarkko, enjoy!

"hit me slowly hit me quick,"

"... hit me with your shifting stick"

I'm sure if we gave Jarkko a hemmer and some wood he could reprogram the force feedback in rfactor for us :)

Since im gonna change the wheel of my DFP (i gotta find some nice realcar wheel that is bit bigger than original, very light and usable for mounting some buttons on).. means i cant use the poor stick shifter in the dfp anymore..
so i gotta more seriously start building a shifter since cant find a decent one in the whole goddamn europe.
Im gonna make this sequential at first, using the mechanics of my old momo force.. electronics from a gamepad..
so i can add some extra buttons too.. gotta visit electronics shop on monday, unless i find something usable
from home, highly possible i will. :)
mount to the table attached.. might put another right next to this mount just to make it rock solid.
(decided to use old PSU as a base.. the mount is from my old wheel..)

Hmm the momo seq shifter electronics combined to gamepad is a nogo.. momo shifter uses for some reason a system that is sorta: A on/off/B on.. where it would need to be 2 separate switces on/off and on/off...
bleh.. i have some buttons free in the Finnmotion USB box, i made little testing and i managed to at least figure out
how to connect 6 buttons, it has 32 but i saw some sparkles and windows popped a window that my device is not properly connected so i had to quit my experimenting a tad early :) (they still work though)
hmmm.. sooo i got 6 buttons i can use without adding any extra devices.. I could ask the info how to connect
from team finnmotion actually, so i would get all 32, most likely they will give me the info i need.. then i can make a shifter and button box using finnmotion device.. hell even the buttons on the new wheel if i experience
issues with dfp electronics.

Good luck my friend.  You are braver than me. ;)  I'm scared to death of opening my expensive electronics!

Thanks for the update.

Mate, go check the kitchen.. there's all manner of appliances there with buttons galore for you to cannibalise.
Sure Wifey will be a bit upset at first, but she'll get over it, and you'll have a nice new control centre... Food blender switch for the electric windows, microwave timer for the brake bias, rolling pin for pit crew training... you know it makes sense :)

haha already took my time to find unusable devices to take apart.. :)
Ill visit the electronic shop in the morning.. it will cost me 10 euros to get 20 buttons and
a box for them.. so pretty cheap i must say.. i can make the connector to the usb box from
an old IDE cable, then i can include the more detailed wiring inside the "button box".
