The reason I don't paint, and props to those who stick it out to improve

Need I say more than the attached pic?  This was literally THE BEST I could come up with last summer.  Even after hours of attempts.

Not a bad looking car really, just needs some finishing touches :)

Painting takes a lot of time for me, I too applaud those who can do it. There are great painters here at SJ :)

I just might tackle a Race07 series paint soon.  Just for fun, not for use.  I do think it's time to have another competition.  One for the pro's and one for the novice's.

Might even stick with this same sponsor.

Yeah m8, you have no trouble in understanding good visuals, just some finishing touches and it would be good. Keep at it m8, ive seen much worse 50th attempts than your first!

Think you're too hard on yourself kind sir. Couple of decals and a number or two and you got a great scheme.

   I find it hard, as I want to be authentic but i am heavily influnced by the art of custom paint. As of yet I have not married the two nicely. Gonna keep trying though. :D

I tried carviewer just now for a GTR2 Viper I am working on but it just puts the template (after converted tobmp, also trtied the x files from GTR24u) over a NASCAR car.....so I got rid of it.

 I tried another 3d thingie too, um, can't remember the name as I threw that out too, didn't do anything.

 I noticed there's some kind of reference to a 3d thing with the nvidia add on with Photoshop but can't find any toolbars or anything.

Don't give up Den.  It's five thirty in the morning and I haven't had any sleep.  I'll give you a hand this afternoon after some rest.  That's assuming that nobody beats me to it.

If I could figure it out though, I'm certain you can.  I think you need the xfiles for the car you want to view, but I can't remember for sure.

I had them, but same thing, just loaded it over the NASCAR. Yeah, I been up since 3am myself so starting to run down. Going to nap at 8:30 as the kids leave for school then, (7:30 now) and I want to spend some time with them. Then up to do a few odd jobs and taking MiLady for lunch. I'll have a look about for you later. get some rest. And thank you.
