Are you using Photoshop Monty?
If I'm right, the alpha channel is used for shiny-ness in rFactor. Dark is dull and light is shiny. I may have that wrong, though.
So... if you want make the alpha channel lighter on a particular decal.
- Make sure that the decal is on it's own layer
- Hold Cntrl whilst clicking on the decal layer's thumbnail in the Layers palette - this will select just the decal (you should see the selection marquee around it)
- Hit the Channels tab, and select the alpha channel (probably called 'alpha 1')
- If there isn't an alpha channel, you can make one by hitting the 'Create new Channel' button at the bottom of the Channels pallette.
- Now go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and set the brightness to the level you need.
Hope that helps. Give me a shout if you need any more info.
You've given me an idea for a new tutorial for RSP - thanks mate!
