While the Cat's away
« on: August 17, 2009, 11:36:57 pm »
As DroKky Boy has decided that spending time holidaying with his family is more important than setting up the AlfaTina server (I know!... beats the hell out of me too), perhaps we should have some 'user generated content' this week.

So, shout out what you fancy and let's see what we can agree on.

Personally, I fancy old school... Alfas and Cortinas on an an easy track, switching to an oval race (Oh come on, it could be fun), then light's out for a night race.... rinse and repeat.

Ahvenisto, Albi67, Hitchin?

Hitchin is a track we MUST do at SJ at some point in time.
Why not now?  :)

Is there a short oval in GTL?
Never saw this before and not tested either.

We had the perfect AlfaTina track as GTL-ESJ funrun: Nuerburg Village but since it's only been raced last Saturday another track should be looked for.

My suggestion isPukekohe   :) However Hitchin is also a nice one.

There are ovals on NG downloads (Daytona oval, Indianapolis Ovarl, Darlington Oval and Talladego Oval) I've got no idea which one is short or long. Darlington seems to be a nice one:

The west end of the track (Turns 3 and 4) was narrowed to accommodate a fishing hole, creating Darlington's distinctive egg-shaped design.

Hitchin, ahhhh... so that was the track through the lill village... i think it's been about 2.5 years since we last raced that at Simjunkies!

very good suggestion!

As for Nuenby Village, indeed give it a couple of weeks, but it's indeed an instant classic for Alfatina...

wasn't there even another variation to nuernburg?

Yes, but not widely known. It's called the Nordschleife.

Oval racing gets a big yes from me, loved it in CART Factor a few weeks ago.

OK, I've been doing some fps testing and alnd would like to suggest:

Race 1, Alfa & Cortina Pukekohe, 12 laps
Race 2, Alfa & Cortina Hitchin, 12 laps
Race 3, Shelbe Daytona Coupe, Talledega 15 laps
Race 4, Shelbe Daytona Coupe ,Talledega 15 laps - NIGHT

I'll be ratted to mess with the server after that :)

that worked out very well Pete, great fun and good to see Fry's back in action

but as i was saying on vent Pete the alfatina section of the forum needs cleaning up, like removing or moving the 2 posts alfatine this blah blah to the alfatine "events" folder and maybe adding the date of the alfatina event after the roman xxxivcx (28/8/09)
