Mentioning AlfaTini in other forums/casual leagues.
« on: April 12, 2008, 11:56:15 pm »
I recall seeing somewhere that this was OK but wanted to make sure.

I would like to recommend the alfatini races in the forums of another casual online groups I hang out with.

OK to do so?

I don't have a problem with it.  But I guess we'd best wait for the opinion of it's organizers.  Of course anyone who wants to participate would have to download and install our carpack.

Ted, Dave... what do you think?

I'm neither Ted nor Dave .. but just to stick my oar in :)
The AlfaTina uses the open password, so anyone who is registered as an applicant can race ... Get your pals to sign on and they can race :)
From my POV, it's not an open server race... but it doesn't take much to get in :)

indeed... all are welcome, as long as they fully understand the casual nature of the racing, and the potential for good qualifying times to be wiped out by the need for a restart or seven!  Also, as unlikely as it seems, if for any reason the server is struggling to cope with the numbers, preference will have to be given to the regulars.

Get 'em along Linkmeister... all they need to do is follow Pete's instructions, and bring a bottle!

slight correction all they need do is register on the forum and ask to be a "Friend of SJ" and down load the car pack and they are sorted ........no need to send in an application right away they can test things out first ;)

Cool. I babble constantly about one day doing this race(?) and my wife just patiently nods and says "Okay Dear"..

I'm over it now. The treatment has worked well and I race from wherever I end up and have tons of fun.  rotfl

I suppose it all depends on "How far gone" you are to notice that the server has been restarted......Or even the shananagens that caused it in the first place :innocent:

How about the use of the SJ skinpack at other casual leagues.  They(speedgeezers) were looking for some all in one in skinpacks for GTL and they seem to willing to use the SJ pack if its ok with you guys.

Cant think of a better skinpack thumbs up

I didn't paint any of them, but I don't mind a bit.  thumbs up

They can use the one that's there now.  But shortly there should be an updated one with some fresh paint released soon.

Not so shortly unfortunately, we just dont get enough cars anymore. :(

I dont mind either if you use it, in fact.. it would be an honor. Im sure all here feel the same way.
Only thing is that theres few cars from outside SJ, mainly Hoskins ones. But he has authorised us to use "Whatever we need", and he is credited in the pack so i see no problem.

I was under the impression GTL painting was stopped and we had the final carpack release..
If you guys want to add more cars and want some to paint i have a few im willing to request....

Well, we were hoping to be able to release another big pack but seems rather unlikely, not many cars submitted.

Well if you could take my Area 51 GT40 and clone that to an Escort / 906 and Capri with the Escort having the lime green "wheel arches" then that could be some more to go on!

And if you got bored with that, chucking in a Area 51 Cobra wouldnt go astray either. :hats off:

???  :jawdrop: ???

I sometimes feel that I'm hogging the packs with my 'personal' cars (3 and one in the new waiting pack) but hey, I'll make some requests, I would LOVE to submit more GTL cars.(and race Dion  lol)
Is it really OK to go ahead with that?

Unfortunately im not up for any new paint tasks at the moment, you should ask from the other painters. :)

Yeah i was supposed to paint a car for Steiny but a complete lockup with creativity, just cant make anything proper out of it.. Tried many things, but nothing really snapped right. (Steiny knows, he has seen the bloody cars)
Same with my personal Aflatina Tina.. grrrr..

hehe.. i know m8, and i dont blaim ya.. i think it's the season for beeing out and about more then trying to be prosper in painting cars.. unless the climate you live in isn't permitting much outsidelife right now.. hahahaha.. meaning.. i think the autumn/winter is more productive for paintjobs anyways...

No worries Jarkko, i was thinking of pm'ing you, that you scrap the one sport.. and just put as many on it as you can possible think of and find material for.. as it would fit into the "weight loss program" that i'm soon to be part of as well.. ***sigh***...

So dumbelts, cricketsticks/bats, hockey, baseball, basketball, anything.. except soccer! should be easier that way jarrks! as the main topic.. no.. cant really think of anything else.. but i DO like the taillites though..
