screen shot forum posting - resizing n stuff

hi

i have a few screen shots i want to post, the files are 1800x1440 .bmp (7.5 meg) , used "windows picture and fax viewer" to change them to .JPG (0.8 meg), but now i want to reduce the size a bit more to post them on the forum.

what is the best (free way) way to do this.

Paint.net is easiest, The Gimp is more powerful.  :hats off:

Whichever you use Gogs - the forum is set to reduce all posted pics to 800px wide - so you'll get the best quality if you reduce the width of your pics to a maximum of 800px.

Ive been shrinking them to 640 wide at max.

Hehe - it used to be 640px - but since we made the forum ultra wide (and Caspar bought a proper monitor!), I adjusted it to 800px - did I not mention that?  :innocent:

No control, but easy to use.
