Sorry to here of your troubles Jeff.

There is not much one can do when the power supply begins to fail except to replace it  :( are you losing drive letters or the drive itself is quiting?

What is happening, is what I supect Hec has stated.... AMPS

Getting the darn Blue Screen that we all dread, Disk Check....

I have been able to move some plugs around, and transfer data to different drives so I could re-format the effected drives, the only one left...... my 43gigs of rFactor

My question is, about PSU's... 1 rail, 2 rails....on the 12v Side, what are the benefits....and what is recommended for amps on them, as I have 2 IDE drives, 1 SATA drive, 2 DVD ROM drives, and my VGP, an ATI X1500Pro, 256mb, all running on a piddly 18Amp, single 12V rail.....

Finances are literally non-existant, and I would like to get a better PSU, but am in need of tech advice......

I am not too sure on the amperage but I would recommend at least a 500 watt PSU for what you have listed and if you are running that or greater already I am affraid I am not much more help at the moment. Bummer these things always seem happen when the flow is low :(
