I have trouble with the MKiipack. I extracted it to the MKii directory in the tc65 folder but the car does not work. It wont appear in showroom and causes the game to close during track loading. I am assuming I put it in the wrong folder.

what happened is that cos you extracted it straight there it created one extra folder that shouldnt be and the cars went under that one..
extract them to a different location, then move the folders which have the car numers to the mkII folder then it will work right.

Hi,

I have just installed the MK11 pack and its causing the game to crash when loading the track. I extracted the car folders to a seperate location and then moved them to the MK11 folder in the correct way but still the game crashes. Any ideas?

Hope you can help

The game still works fine if i load one of the original MK11 cars. I must have a problem somewhwere else then.
To be honest i dont know where to start looking. I hav'nt installed any other car packs yet this is my first one so thats not the problem. Can i still compete in tonights race with a original car?

C:\Program Files\GTL\GameData\Teams\TC-65\Jaguar Mkii folder you should have only numbered folders and a few files, is that what you've got?

Your symptoms sound very familiar, so we should be able to sort this out.  :)

If you browse to the Race07 folder, theres a CustomSkins folder where you put  the cars.
BUT with the carpack i made, you just locate the Race07 main folder and let it install.. very easy. :)

EDIT:If you feel unsure you can wait until someone is on ventrilo and im sure you will be helped through the install process.

with tracks if the .rar has a gamedata folder you install to main 07 directory and let it overwrite. If the .rar just has a the track file you put it in the gamedata folder which creates a Locations folder for future track files (I believe that's how I did it).

I'm having a bit of trouble with the track addons for Race 07 (steam version).  Copied everything over to the correct locations, but the "location" folder was not there to begin with.  Evidently steam is being weirdy beardy.

As such the tracks dont show in the race menu.  What am I missing?

Hi Jonny

The folders (Game Data and UI Data, I think) are not there to start with, you create them when you add the addon tracks.

The Locations folder should be inside the Game Data folder.

Hope that helps, mate.

I took the Folder with the veh and the dds files in it and put it in the vehicle/teams folder so theoretically it should appear ..but it doesnt..so I took the veh files and the dds files and dropped them into the teams folder and named it skins..I go into the game and select the team and then a driver and hit skins,,their are all the files...teamWing,TeamHelmet,TeamTire TeamDriver..all dds files..and 1 veh. file in this case Marlboro...I click the "Marlboro" veh file and the skin loads..I click anything else and the graphic of the helmet or tire or wing or driver loads..so I took out the dds files and the skin doesnt show uo so I assume the dds files have to be with the veh. file to work.
If this is a standalone car I cant get it to stand alone so to speak. even ried renaming the Folder from "Marlboro" to Marlboro 2006 and still didnt work. so now I am completely baffled. I really dont want to have to sort thru dds files to be sure I load a veh file everytime.

There will be very soon.

 :nose:

Not sure how it works with the Champcars, cos each mod is a little different, but the folder containing the DDS and the VEH files should be somewhere like this:

...\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\MOD_NAME\TEAM_NAME\

Not sure what you mean mate.

Playing offline, you can set the amount of cars you want to race against to whatever number you like.  It won't make any difference which add on cars you have installed.

yeah its weird i didnt expect the SJ car packs to be so prominent in the single player cup challenges... anyone know a way around it so im just racing the default painted cars... one car i passed had like Mario Brothers on it! wha?

but i gotta say i was using Byron's orange and blue lotus for one race it rocked and looked good rocking, so thanks!

The car pack has an uninstaller "SJ GTL carpack Uninstal.exe" , you could run that to remove the SJ cars and reinstall when you come league racing.
This won't change the number of cars you face in the challenges though... just the pain jobs :)

Other than doing a second install (which may be problematic in itself) I think you would have to go through each of the TEAMS folders (e.g. D:\GTL\GameData\Teams\GTC-65) and sort the folders by created date, you could then determine the added cars, delete the one's you don't like and keep the ones you do... an unenviable task. You could also run the installer and point it to a temporary directory, you could then determine which vehicles are original and which are add on.

i use 3 install of GTR2, and will be easier enough to do with GTL.  Uninstall car pack from current install, as you have your championship thing going on, then rename the GTL.exe to TiTs or anything really.  Then insert GTL disc, and it will ask you if you want to install (can't find the .exe file).  Install and apply patch, then install the MIGHTY SJ CAR PACK :hats off: in your fresh install.  Re-name the GTL.exe as GTL Modded.exe (or whatever) and voila, a modde install of GTL.  Then return to your original version, and change the name of the .exe from TiTs to GTL.exe.  Ta daaaa! a vanilla install of GTL, to run separately from your online SJ version.  thumbs up

Dave, I think the problem is Punky wants to leave a couple of the cars from the car pack in game .. but remove others .. there's no easy/graphical way to do this that I know of .. has to be done manually within the folders.
