Hi Jake,
rfactorcentral is your main resource. The 'hall of fame' is a good place to start.
You will want to try realfeel or Leo's FFB plug ins for force-feedback enhancement (realfeel is the one I use, but some use a combination of both)

When you install a new mod, launch it in offline mode and in the chat input area (it's on the main screen when the track loads up) type in ISI_BABYFACTORY this will give you all cars in the mod (and the standard ISI stuff that comes with rfactor).

Depends on your preferences, but you might like to try the Caterham and the F1 1979 mods as good examples of the quality you can get as free add ons.

...and you might want to enrol at your local polytechnic on a course in file management!
