March, Lola, Prodrive and USF1 are new teams signed up for next season.. i guess some of em are counting on the money limit, but at least USF1 was gonna join anyway. It would be cool to actually see these new teams on the grid, but truth is some might even drop out depending on the result of the grand expence battle.

we will see what FIA deceide with budget plan. Some of these teams signed in, if the plan will been used but Ferrarie or even BMW or so doesn´t been not amused about

Hope this plan comes year by year. Well, i don´t like Ferrarie but they been since 1950 or so in F1 and if they leave by this budget plan this ruins defently the sport

I'm not sure whether you have been following the news the past days. They agreed on a 100 million (if I remember correctly) budget cap for 2010 and the 45 million cap in 2011, so all current teams will remain in the F1 until 2012 like their current contracts state.

Looking forward to what those new teams can do.

Its a proposal done by FOTA, and theres nothing final set the last i checked. As we have seen in F1 lately, everything can change, quickly and in pretty weird ways also.

be great to see independent teams back in F1 like March and Lola along side williams. the big car manufactures have had it all there own way far too long.

yeah, new teams been welcome. every year. specialy if that means they start with new drivers

about FOTA: Well, teams signed in but they will race only if a) all FOTA teams will race under an identical reglemant ( like 2009 ) and b) they been accept at large. However, stepps been done now for a new season with good teams and we will see what Mr. Mosley do

It looks like USF1 should be a go no mater what. It is very nice being an american and feeling like this country dose not care about F1, and F1 dose not care about it, that such a team is in the works. Maybe such a team can help F1 popularity over here and take some of the focus off of NASCAR and IRL.

Even if only one or two other teams join, It should be a great thing to see the grid fill out like that. Having only 20 cars on the grid is just sad, but if they get this budget cap right and all the teams are happy, we may see a new golden age for F1.

yeah, the plans looks gr8 but hard to realize if u want that all teams stay in.

I must admit, i liked watching NASCAR and so i was younger. But Eurosport in Germany doesn´t showed so much in the past

Can remember gr8 races with Glock as newcommer and Bourdais ( how hes called?? I mean Sebastain B.

). Can´t remember all names but realy gr8 drivers there. And finaly the show was for the public. U was able to visit the teams and see the cars not like F1 in the past

Epsilon Euscadi has signed in for 2010. They will be around no matter what decisions are made on the budget thing.. They say they have the funding for next 4 years allready!

Yeah, shame some tracks wont hold more teams! But like always.. in F1.. ANYTHING is possible.

Well, there been Prodrive, Lola, USF1, Team Superfund, Epsilon Euskadi, Campos Meta 1 and Litespeed to. Williams isn´t in FOTA now but they signed in to. 9 Teams now which been happy with budget bla bla and 9 FOTA teams.

and Mr. Mosley is not amused about what the FOTA want

They have money and power, they can alter the tracks if they want to so there will be more pit stalls, they should! Man, it would be awesome to see even 3 new teams though!

So, it´s official now. Brabham signed in as an budget plan team to. Franz Hilmer, he owned the rights on the name Brabham, owned also the rest of the team Super Aguri. He fixed sponsorcontract up to 2012. Well, 10 teams been happy with bedget plan and 9 FOTA teams. For the sport i hope Mr. Mosley deceide correct. We will see what the 12th June bring us

Jarkko, you seem to forget that not the FIA, but the track owners themselves have to pay for building more or better pit stalls! It really cost a lap of money of the organisers and track owners to be able to host a F1 GP, Spa F1 almost always ends with a loss of a few milion euro

Also some circuits simply don't have the room for more than 13 teams, for instance Monaco. Speaking of that track... it would also might not be very practical to have more than 26 cars as certainly on shorter tracks traffic would be a factor.

Family Brabham is not amused about that Formtech want to start with the name Brabham Grand Prix. Well, Franz Hilmer owned the rights for this name but he should better change the name to Formtech GP or so

Well, I have my doubts about the current leaders of the FIA. They're messing up F1 with the budget limit rule, they've already messed up WTCC: you can't compare turbo diesel and NA petrol engines and WRC only has 2 manufacterers left and the Citroen is the best car... and what about the future of WRC? Still not sure which way to want to go it seems.

IMO they want more teams but only for their best interest: The FOTA is less easy to control than a bunch of low budget privateers, so getting rid of FOTA members and replacing them by privateers in order to gain more/absolute control over F1 his the plan.

Well, Force India left FOTA to.

However, the last days showed a FOTA which doesn´t looked like a union. This is defently a good point for Mr. Mosley but FOTA learned and growned up now. Manufacturer-pact is the magic word now. If ne of the 8 teams march to a different drummer, they should be ready to pay 50 Mio

However, a FOTA league with 8 teams and no financel limit means they will lose in time few teams.

A FIA league with these plans means only a better GP2 and not more.

Time for a way in the middle
