I don't know if I'm the only junkie that is intrested in snowmobiles. But i just got to show you this one. It is a experimental sled from the seventies. It has two 797 cc three cylinder engines.

I used to when i was a kid... my grandpa had this green mean snowmobile and we
transported logs from the forest with it... he had built a trailer to it himself to bring the
logs with... he is quite a handyman building pretty much anything by himself. I also
got a chance to drive it sometimes its really fun :)

And I guess Yvon knew how to handle them bars!

But I guess that's to be expected of one who can sling a Kawasaki 750 arround old Spa-Francorchamps in style. Brings back memories, sweet ones.

Is the legend still arround these days?

Caspar.

I remember being towed on a sled behind a Ski-Doo, and having to BAIL OFF it B4 I smacked a fencepost, head first!   lol

Or, "flying" across a fiels at 60+ mph + getting bounced off that back onto crusty snow!  OUCH!!!!

 :argh:

2  x  800 cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine's with expansion chambers, bet you could hear it miles away, love the sound of a 2 stroke just as it stutters coming into the powerband and then just screams (although the RPM's are nothing compared to modern 4 strokes) must have been a beast when it was in the powerband.

here is a pic of a snowmobiles i saw on my travels somewhere, but it's more like something from "shining"

Kind of off Topic but i just got home from my Uncles place after managing to rack up a nice speed of 90kmph on a 40m road on his ATV. ATV's are probably the most fun thing i have done in a while. I suggest everyone does it... at least one. it was a Honda, 300cc or something can't really remember any more will find out rest later

sounds a bit dangerous Satain, i hope you had protective clothing on, including gloves and a helmet, only had one go on an atv and it was fun, on a few mud tracks but the best bit was a big flat-ish wet grassy field and a oval race started all on it's own, but it got stopped as people were throwing themselves off of the atv's when they were mid corner.

but i'd love a go on a snowmobiles / skidoo

ATVs are superb fun, i used to use one all the time when i worked for the National Trust as a warden. We had to go on a couple of courses (standard/advanced) and went on some wild purpose built tracks, and when the course finished and the instructor was 'no longer responsible for us' it got really interesting, i managed to get mine 2.5(ish) meters in the air(other peoples estimate)  :punt: and, once i had my 'ticket', i had 3500 acres of the southdowns to play on   :excited:
Gogs is so right about it being dangerous though, several of my mates have had pretty bad accidents by getting carried away the fun and forgetting these things kill. the last one i used regularly was a Big Boss 400(Honda) and it had 11 safety notices on it and EVERYONE mentioned DEATH

Hmmm maybe a helmet couldn't have hurt but it was on a farm and you know what farmers are like, "no no he'll be fine, he'll learn about the drop over that ridge the hard way"

Oh and the one i was using was a Honda Big Red300 or 3000 or something
