Renault World Series. Another view.
« on: September 13, 2006, 05:40:47 pm »
What a fantastic weekend at the Renault World Series at Donington. Great weather, great company and great racing. What more could you ask for?

This time the pics aren't the same quality as previously because of the distance and the post and wire fencing in some areas but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Exiting the Hollywood section and aproaching Craner Curve.

Ted loses no time in setting up shop at the Old Hairpin to catch the early customers.

These two leaving Hollywood and blasting down towards Craner.

If you get any part of the Hollywood and Craner sections wrong, the Old Hairpin will bite.

.......as this guy found out.

A general view showing McLeans.

Approaching Craner Curve.

Whoops, the Old Hairpin strikes again. This guy rejoined at Starkey's Bridge with no damage.

...........unlike the one who decided to discard his bonnet at The Old Hairpin in order to lighten his car.

I wonder if team orders were in force as these two raced each other at Starkey's.

Another view of McLeans. This time you can just see part of the Schwantz curve to the right.

Hollywood

Some close ups. Well as close as I could manage ;)

During a short break, this Renault engined bi-plane provided some aerobatic entertainment.

On the grid for the Clio cup race were these beauties, resplendent in their Renault Corporate Colours ;)

Sorry about the wire but it's the only place for Goddards.

It got quite congested at Goddards.

......with some very close racing.

As you can see, they were not holding back.

Now how could I resist cheering this guy on with a name like that? :)

Until the next installment
Riv.

Ok, well I don't use the "attach" option. First I resize the image to 800 width in photoshop and constrain proportions checked. Once I have all my images resized I host them on my own webspace and upload them using "Cute FTP" file transfer software. There are others but I just like that one. Then I simply use the insert image option and insert the url.

Rinse and repeat for as many images as you like.

Tip: To save yourself typing out the url every time simply give each photo a number, then copy and paste the whole url and just change the number for each photo. Saves loads of time. Good luck.

I use www.photobucket.com to host my images then just copy and paste the Img address into my post. Photobucket resizes the pic to a viewable size and you can reduce it down in the edit feature on there as well.

Here's a copy and paste of "advice on posting pics" that I put up on the UKOG forum. Forgive me if it's teaching you to suck eggs but I thought it might help.

Quote
If you are unsure of how to post a photo on the forum here's what to do.

1. Find a free online photo storage/image hosting site. I use www.photobucket.com

2. Once you have an account you can upload pictures from your PC into your online gallery.

3. When you have pics in your gallery it should look something like this:

Obviously the pictures will be different LOL

4. Under your pics you will see three lines of text; URL,Tag & Img

5. To get the pic to show on the forum simply copy the Img text line and paste it into your post.

6. You will then be able to see your selected picture in your post once you either "Preview" or "Submit" it.

7. You can do all sorts of stuff with photobucket one of them being resizing your pics but I'll leave you to explore the site and play around so that you can do some stuff for youself.

Hope this helps
