F1 2009 Belgian Grand Prix
« on: August 28, 2009, 05:14:55 pm »
Only after a weeks break the worlds fastest snowploughs are back in action, this time in the marvellous Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
After Valencias borefest I really hope we get to see some quality racin'.  :excited:

After fridays practices it seems that the Brawns are struggling, though you never know, they might be fuelling heavy while others drive with fumes for TV time. Also, so far it seems that Badoer won't catch the rest of the field while the rookies, Grosjean and Alguersuari seem to be improving from last races. Anyway, it's only friday and we'll know more come tomorrow and the qualify.

Your thoughts and comments?

Well, I've watched both practice sessions, actually I was more browsing internet during the first session as there was not much to look at, and I really thought Brawn GP was suffering in the second sector. However after reading their comments it seems like they think that they are in rather good shape  :hmm: Still Red Bull will probably be the fastest car here.

And you're right about the tracks: Valencia is so dull and Spa is the best one on the F1 calendar  :) And there's another personal favorite coming later this season: Suzuka  :D

Think Red Bull will win this one, but not 100% sure who of them both lol

Brawns still having probs with cold temp. It´s a bit funny to see, that Brawn rules the hot tracks and Red Bull the cold ones. I don´t think Lewis have a real chance to win this one and i don´t understand why Ferrarie doesn´t changed the driver. Hülkenberg still knows the track and with Weber as manager it should be easy :innocent: However, they can still change one more driver but if they doesn´t want :bang:

Come on Mas... uh damn.... Come on Schu.... ah crap.

I'm taking my kangaroo and going home!

 lol

Hope Webber gets this one...
To be honest, I'm too fussed who wins, as long as the racing is good.
Valencia should be removed from the calender. It's like Monaco, Location, Location, Location.
It's for the celebrities to flock too, screw the racing, the celebs wanna be seen at a motor racing event.

Valencia is a wannabe Monaco at best. They tried to get some more yachts in their harbour, but even that didn't really succeeded lol. It's also not a really a challenging track layout and of course it got no history too. Too bad they have a 5 year contract, so we're stuck with that track for another 3 year  :|

Anyway, I'm curious about Brawn GP because they didn't sound too unhappy, but their laptimes were not really quick... I'm a bit puzzled.

Also, I don't think they're going to hire Hulkenberg. They're going for someone with at least some experience: Gené or perhaps even Davidson

Yeh I'm confused as to why they didnt go with Gene straight up. He's the official test driver so I would've though he'd have the skills/fitness/knowledge to jump in and be reasonably competitive straight up.

Go Force India!!! :D

Should be another great race! Looks like Jarno might do well with his little extra fuel, but the top 5 will have to look out for Kimi at the start. Interesting to see Rubens so far ahead of Jenson. I hope he can gain more points on Jenson. Can't wait for the race! :)

Looks like there's a good chance Heidfeld could get his first ever win.  I would love to see that.  But I'll be cheering for Giancarlo tomorrow.

Great stuff, both by Kimi and Giancarlo.
Man it must be hard to stay THIS close for SO long and not do silly stuff. Fantastic drivers, both of 'em.
Vettel wasn't half bad either.

A great race!!! :D Really happy that Kimi won! Jenson dodged a big bullet, although he lost some points.
