I use 3DsMax 8 to view cars.
You can easily use in-game aswell.
But i need to see the cars as I paint them to correct errors that may occur and so on.

There is nothing worse than making a paintjob and put it in game only to see you made a mistake and then have to do it all over again.

And then dear children,...there was only one team left in the whooooole wide world.
Everybody was driving for King Cato and lived happily ever after.
The end.

But I do that every time.  Get it designed...  Looking OK in carviewer or whatever, looking fine in 3dsmax.  Then get it in game and think:  'Don't like that, need to change that, forgot to do that...'  etc!

My method is easy, and dont require any heavy program in the background.
Download the x-file of the car you paint from GTR4u.de..
Then download Carview from this post..
All you do is extract the xfile to a convenient location where you can browse quickly with your graphics editor,
then just overwrite correct texture and hit refresh textures in carview.

Well.

What I do is that I paint and render. Paint and render from different direction. Remove or replace and render. render with different lighting(to see how it looks) create a smal clip if I am in doubt and then use different lighting.

Usually I am overconfident and trust my own judgement(never a good idea really).

But for the GREYSTONE paintjobs I knew what I was looking for and therefore it was quite easy to make them.

Will try it m8. Thx m8.  thumbs up
I was using the Carviewer for 2 month but the onliest xfile which works was the Seat one. The rest shows me only a black car or helmet.
