I spent hours the other day getting evo to run fluidly.......now I'm back to the stutters.  Thanks Simbin. Oh, and it doesn't change the draw distance at all on my machine, either.

Hmm what are you pc specs? are you using nhancer/traytools? Is your hard drive defragged? What level of graphical detail you use? Do you use the performance monitor? Do you run fraps?

Just few questions that can help us find a solution.

I was experiencing a bunch of stutters.  Hopefully this is fixed although it could be my provider.

Also, I like the new setup folder mods however it now takes longer to hit the setup page (it has to look through all your setups).

I guess I'd suggest using a "base setup" strategy for each car and then copying it to the track and modify from there.
For instance if you had a base F3000 setup in your brno track then you could always refer to brno and load and modify the setup and then save it to the trak you are running.  And the same for each other car version.

Also, I'm interested in the FOV upgrade.   Maybe I'll play around with it soon.

Cheers,
Ski/Steve                               moo

thanks Jarrko, I'm not really looking for a solution at the moment. No time to work on it anyway. I run triple screens with softTh on an 8800GTS+, so I'm pushing the game pretty hard. I'm sure that if I was running a sane resolution (instead of 5172x1050!) I wouldn't have any trouble at all.

I am NOT running triple screen but I am on 22" @ 1920x1200 and max out the game on rain with 20+ cars and usually have no problems with my 8800 512 GTS
But some more juice would be good of course...

The resolution makes helluva difference.. And Cato if that card kicks like that on that resolution.. I think im gonna buy couple of those instead of the 4870 ive been planning.
(=Im very undecided if i fully believe ya or not)
 lol

EDIT:I had to check out some benchmarks.. Apparently that card aint bad at all, so i think you were truely objective about the R07 performance.

Well, you should have no reason to not trust me on it.
BUT, take rfactor instead. I have issues when 20+ Caterhams are on the startline on... well take PAU.. drops to about 20FPS on the start there.
And then you have GRAW2. Have issues there aswell when maxing out the game.
But Actually ALL simbin games have NO issues with maxxing out. and most other "newer" games aswell.
COD4=MAX no issues. plenty frames.
FarCry2 = Max without full AA.
iRacing. MAX all and no issues. I know that not the most demanding but hey....

Thats just some impressions.

For the price, the 8800 gts512 is prob some of the better cards still out there m8.....

But it is NOT a card for the future now me thinks......

if you have one, keep it still, if not, maybe buy something newer.

If you are going multiple cards... then maybe these might be good still to buy.

The moving of the CustomSkins was a balls up by Simbin... as you need to run multi copies of the skins in each windows user... I lost 7Gb with this change due to 3 windows logons/drivers...

Im just thinking since my card is faster, and im not yet sure how it will handle that resolution on new games (especially iR with more shadows/2 pass on.. its very light but the more shadows option in some tracks demands crazy! I can now use it at 1280x1024 but i suspect with huge res and some really shadow heavy track might cause fps drop on race starts)

I have no clue how much of an impact the resolution demand of the new monitor will do.. I guess you have first hand experience doing a similar swap just little while ago.

To be honest I actually do not see MUCH difference from 1280 to 1920.
I was actually a bit shocked myself.
But again. this is different for every game....

You will indeed just see for yourself.
And I am sure you will LOVE IT AS I DID :)

With my new projector I now also switched from playing all my games on 1280x720 to playing them on 1920x1080. I was amazed by how much better all the games look and almost as amazed by how I didn't notice any significant drop in performance at all.
As you know I also have the 8800GTS 512MB and pretty much exactly the same pc as you do Jarkko. So should give you a pretty good idea of how it will perform in your pc. This really is a good card for its price.
