FROM RSC:

Quote from: Vince Klortho
Following SimBinís recent statement regarding their view of modding they asked us to review and update our site policy regarding conversions. After a lengthy discussion with them we have adopted the following rules for conversion of content from SimBinís games.

Adding new content and new features made from scratch is allowed.

Conversions of content and features from their older titles to their most recent titles (e.g. GTL to GTR Evo) is allowed.

Conversion of content from their new titles for use in their older titles (e.g. RACE 07 to GTR2) is allowed only if it is verified that the user has both titles on their PC.

Conversion of content from their latest titles (in the coming months GTR Evo and STCC) is not allowed for a period of one year regardless of how itís done.

Conversions to competing titles are allowed if, and only if, they verify that the user has the original SimBin title installed.

Changes to the game that allow the user to gain an unfair advantage in online racing are not allowed.

Please note that all modifications to SimBin material is done on your own risk and is not approved, endorsed, or supported by Simbin. There is no guarantee that their licensors might not act against what they may consider direct misuse of their license. Neither SimBin nor RaceSimCentral will take any responsibility in such a case.

looks good, but ill leave it to our admins to decide as its there head that would roll  :salute:

I'm just a bit confused by the download page at the moment.  There appears to be 'Part 1 Shared Files' and then lots of people arguing, but no actual mod.

So, GTL for GTR-E? Hmm, not for me. GTL is just fine by itself. If I could get the FFB right then maybe.

You need parts 1,2,3 and 4.  Beware the NG 100mb d/load limit though!

Indeed, I've never got the FFB set right in Race07/GTR-E, so I'd certainly not download this.

also is it legal ?

well if we go by the RSC it would be Yes .......BUT i disagree with a point in what they say

Quote

i think this should actually be the same as P&G and verification is required  :?:

as for it being used here at SJ it will be a NO for now for a few reasons

1 we need to be sure if we are going by what RSC state as allowable  :?:

2 it needs a lot of testing and already i have found it would not be suitable  for on-line use in it's present state reading forums there are stability issues

and from a small test i did  it would be impossible to use as the collisions are awful i ran the GT40 and clipped a TVR at the hairpin at Mosport and after 1min + of the car dancing around in the air spinning like crazy i had to hit esc to get out of it i was very dizzy  :(

will certainly keep an eye on it but for now it's not worth the server space

oh and as Kristof says the FFB didn't feel over good  with same settings as for race07 and GTR-E the steering felt very light  as if super power steering

P&G is still the front runner as an update for GTL

Hmm. I thought GTREVO's general consensus was it sucked? More arcadey?

Anyways, I like GTL-GTR2 just fine as it gives me the advantages of GTR2 over GTL. Like I can (once I found where to rewrite the files.) set up the add on cars to only run when I want them too rather than have them run whether I like it or not. lus with a few other mods and the original GTR2 in the install it's kinda' like rfactor but I prefer GTR2's feel so am quite happy with it.

I tried this mod, and i tried the GTR2 mod (nogrip), i got the gtr2 mod to work not the gtl mod, i own all the games.  Anyhow i wanted the gtl>GTR evo because of the force feedback (FFB) and user settings you can do with Evo and not the old GTL, for that reason it makes the cars in GTL seem FAR, FAR more real.  Unfortunately i could not get the mod to work, i can see the cars, i have the menu button accessible, however i get a minidump when i select ANY car from GTL, again GTR2 mod works great!

Summation- FFB is amazing, learned that on the Historic and Touring GT mod for Race07, GTL cars>R7.  Wish i could get it to work for GTR EVO.

Also want to say to SimBin, I love you!  Yes in that way too.  :)

Hmm. I got it to work. And I must say i like it. the only problem I have is I can't get my Capri to work as I'm adding slowly my own cars. Did you put it in the program files/etc part?

Well, I guess you must have since you have the GTR2 working.

I agree with the ffb. EVO had the best I've tried so far. I went back to rfactor a few days ago and it was even number than usual after thiis. lol

Oh, and if you need EVO tracks (http://petrolmania.co.uk/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=232&sid=9517d641a008cc67e3aecaacf51652c8)

Okay, I just checked the link in the first post.  Try this one. (http://files.filefront.com/GTL+Mod7z/;12241474;/fileinfo.html) It is the full install and what I used.
