[PnG2] GTLDK Ovals noTP Server
« on: December 31, 2008, 01:47:30 pm »
i have seen alot of lovers of the left hand turn here, so i wanted to post this and hope to gain some interest.

PnG2 offers some great cars for some old school NASCAR racing.  The Ford Falcon Rallye Sprint Weslake heads (longest damn car name in existence??) is perfect for some old school roundy-roundy.  It has enough motor and gearing to do the big tracks like daytona, and is still manageable on the tight tracks.  Its been a few months since any NR2k3 action for me, but with the assymetrical setups allowed by GTR2, it feels reasonably close.

This server runs 24/7 and here is a GTR2 Ovals Track Pack:
http://files.filefront.com/GTR2+Ovalszip/;12822310;/fileinfo.html
Track Pack includes:
Belle Vue Dirt
Brianza v1.0
California Speedway
Darlington
Daytona v_3.1
Homestead
Indianapolis_oval
Martinsville
Michigan_oval
MotoPark Drag Strip
New Hampshire
Oval Motec 1 Mile Speedway
OvalSS (KW Speedway)
Phoenix_oval
Pocono
Ralleigh Figure 8
Richmond
Talladega_oval
Texas Motor Speedway

i hope some of you can join us, and try to drain the left side of your brain of its blood.

Just outtof curiousity, any reverse racing mini's or other?

well.. hadda answer something.. as i'm not that fond of oval's my self, and i guess the true and avid ovalheads will get theyre gear in spin.. ehr.. will spin theyre heads in gear and join you nonetheless.

Only trouble is, a while ago there was this onslaught of tracks, which seemed to have been ported from other games, which caused something of a stir in the simracingcommunity concerning legality.
Therefore ... i think if you host this stuff it will be allright..  :innocent:

Hey Gator
I used to run NR2003, and ovals are a lot of fun; I haven't tried them in the old cars, but I'm sure a filed of multi-coloured Falcons would be sight to behold.  Have visited one of your servers to race P&G, and I am curious as to why you run the servers without the terrain patch.

i run the terrain patch because that is how the game came default.  also i feel it is more realistic.  With practice you can learn how to manuever in it better and not get stuck many times.  Depends on the car and angle of entry/exit, but you can often gas it and float above it.  As it is more realistic in my own opinion, i'll keep it for now.  In the end i hope the community as a whole comes to some decision of which is preferred.  So far it looks like noTP is the majority, and that is fine with me.

One good thing is i can't think of any ovals with sand, although it may be there.

i think btr is going to get going on a small, loose nr2k3 league or race season soon.  i think Death Stalker is heading that up, so i will wait for him to post about it and share it when the time is right.

i am also hoping that Humpfester will make some more Weslake head Falcon skins of classic NASCAR race cars for use on the PnG2 Ovals server.
