P&G league(s) future
« on: January 09, 2009, 08:28:01 pm »
As could be read on another topic I'll (try to) organise the P&G league. While nothing is set, one thing is already certain: the races shall be organised on friday instead of wednesday and we'll have a race weekly (so friday is P&G day  :))
The idea I'm playing with is to alternate between endurance and (two) sprint races. Each race type would have it's own championship. The combo's are not yet picked, but you can expect historic tracks like Le Mans, Goodwood, Rouen les Essarts, ... (most possible tracks can be found on Milan's list)

Next week there will be a test race organised and plans are to start with the league(s) from 23 january  :)

Nice, if you need any assistance related to track/car combo choosing I'll be glad to help.

Well Kris, we're into next week, and you still haven't coughed up the event/car combo (anticipating Alfa Unicycle on Billy Smart's Tightrope; suspended above a pit of hungry leopards; auto-clutch allowed)... as practice time is very limited for me, is there any chance you could give a heads up?  smackeroo

After some in depth research, I have come to the conclusion that unicycles (especially Alfa's) are inherently unstable. This, combined with the tightrope would make the completion of one lap almost impossible - unless you are a clown formerly employed by Billy Smart. And as Byron correctly states, there is the legality of the conversion to consider.

I therefore propose we scrap the tightrope and use the BSA Winged Wheel stand alone mod. This mod uses much more stable two wheeled machines and I'll be using the one based on this original because it's finished in the British racing green livery (well, almost). lol

It's not the instability; there's hardly anything of an Alfa Unicycle... one shower of rain and it rusts away completely, leaving just a tyre!
