I dont like the FBmw's.. yet you dont see me drive them now do you?  :?:

Matter of opinion.. yes i KNOW it's arcadey... but somehow i guess i've got a softspot for things like that...

but to answer you question: why do you all buy this.. well.. one thing.. i had the money laying around?
and.. my best friend is such an arcadefreak.. he jumps outtof the racingseat after 3 spins and says: you better do it...

I'm trying to find common ground and this game just looks damn good and plays very nice. bit fake but WAAAY nice.

It is good fun, and i think that havinf a bash around it with some fellow SJ`ers would be fun... arceda as hell but VERY damn good looking and damage models is something SIMS should take a look at for sure.
Dunno why it has been that much on the bad side damagingwise on sims lately but this is damn fine.

yeah rememberd ive some kind of gamepad/joystick hybrid mix in the cubord i forgot about lol,  should be perfect with the game :)  wonder if i can still use the pedals at the same time...  altho the thing as full 360 degree rotation, basicaly like holding a joystick sideways but also being able to twist it round fully with buttons on each half :)

Well.. i thought the drifting would suck.. but somehow i got into it and it's not that bigga deal in this game.. as long as you've got yer controller set up properly ... Just kicking the tail out a bit earns ya some points as well...

and im pretty sure that someone will crack the codies code to give you all the cars and all the championships eventually so it opens up the game.. right now codemasters is hugging the ingame "bonuscodes" (as they call em) like a mother henn as they are making even more money over noobs that cant race.. lol

I just picked a couple of categories that suited me, the catagories are split up in 3 zones, Europe, USA and Japan and theyre motorsports... so for intance openwheelers have too much grip and are raced in japan and europe, not that much in USA  :?:  trying to make an example.. but failing i think.. sorry..

american muscle for instance.. purely american.. so you'll race those on american street/circuits
driftstuff and tuned up cars are the japanese championships.. but other catagories as well.. the idea to rise up in teh championship is to learn each and every car..but if you cant handle a certain type of car, there's mostly multiple options. You can even just race the championship you DO like alot a couple of times and just win the points to open up the higher case of championships (moving up a level literally.. you'll find that out)

Just go open minded into the arcadyness and look for things that you like... i started with american muscle.. trying to get the force feedback sorted and the wheel lock settings.. no setups ingame though.. hehe untill it felt good.. then i sortta looked over to other catagories.. ALSO the drifting.. it's not such a big deal, but after some practicesessions i must say i've got a mediocre drift down without crashing too much (crash makes you loose your points.. but just notice the points once you've "got it" not when you start.. as right then and there you have no clue what yer doing yet... oh and one tip.. dont use the handbrake.. it has about a 1 second lag as it first shifts itself into neutral before it actually kicks out the tail.. if the kicking out failed.. you're gonna have to wait another second for the handbrake to function again .. resulting in you having missed the three turns you've already passed.

i tried the drifting in the demo like 20 times and i couldnt reach more than 150,000 points then the AI opponent gets 750,000 points or something crazy like that

Grinn.. the opponents in the final product so far (the lower and midclasses) never got higher then 87.000 points i think... whilst i've had a 1.5 minute event where i gathered a multiplyer of 12 and a score of over 2 million... only happend once so far.. but haven't played it since.. something came up everytime or i was just whoring the forum.. hahaha

at the start of a driftevent the "other guy" (AI) first round racks up about 22.000 second round about 28.000.. third and final round one racket up a surprising 57.000... so i guess theyve heard of the betaerrors... and corrected it

This game is getting boring very quickly. Theres many cars but they all feel the same.. oddly even open wheelers arent that different from others.. So nice eyecandy.. Career mode is very fun.. but it kinda gets boring, youve seen it all too soon imo.

Just tried it today, I been playing through Career a bit to try it out. It feels verymuch like a cross of TOCA 3 and DiRT, except that it's more arcadey than TOCA 3 was. I feel as though they're capitalizing off of the menus they used in DiRT, but somehow they don't "feel" as nice on this one.

The main gripe I have (besides the arcadeyness) is the fact that I've been running all-out, and even though I have a 4 second lead, out of nowhere someone will slam me and spin me out and ruin everything. The AI is what really kills it for me.

I will keep playing it, I'm finding it to be decently fun and a good break from real sims, but I'm just kinda peeved about the whole AI thing.
