Gran Turismo 5

Just had a new trailer released at E3. Official NASCAR and WRC licenses as well as the game/sim finally receiving a damage model. Have a look.

I wanted to say something smart assed.  But that just looks amazing.  8-O

GT3 was the first racing game I played that made you race more than three laps.  I remember almost crying when I saw how many laps I had to do in some races!

Really a beautiful trailer.

Oh my....  It has RALLY!!!!  I too spent a bucket load of time in GT.  The physics have always been great, so I hope this continues, and with damage now in the mix, very exciting.

Wonderful trailer, thanks Gooseman.

I must say, its amazing definitely and its a great thing to be a PS3 owner atm.. but i must say.. Forza 3 aint gonna be left behind, Forza3 E3 trailer was at least as amazing! Cockpit view, proper damage in every car (in GT its only race cars apparently), stunning visuals etc, proper tire shape and surface calculation.. both games will be amazingly awesome, im gonna have to get me xbox360 again! Forza 3 should be out on october, GT most likely next year.

Best E3 gameplay video i found without the camera concentrating on the fucking beard face who sounded exactly like Bill Gates, had big words too.. never heard anyone appreciate their own game with as much "we are the best" bullshit. Looks like they are going to deliver though, Forza 2 was awesome so not really a surprise though..
Getting both games is a must for me.

I'm not sure but he might have mentioned once or twice that it's the definitive racing game of this generation.

 lol

The whole presentation was longer and he mostly kept telling how great they were.

Wow GT5.  Wow.  And i hadn't planned to get a PS3!!  But then i did get a PS2 solely because GT4 was coming out.....and still have my GT4 hat for buying the game at midnight the day it came out.  Hope this doesn't make me do that again.  Hopefully i've grown up   :?: :hmm: :rotfl:

RE: Forza - yep couldn't buy it because of the salesman.  Keep saying definitive and they will all forget that GT5 exists.  Was he trying to brainwash us? :grr:

Ehr... i think you've got your mind set to "Dead or Alive" m8... nough bodies moving in there!?

They call it something like "simulation"  ...
and i've been herassed with this by a collegue... it might be good, but ehr.. i'm still not convinced of the true sim-o-meter scaling this one to the top ranked.

GT5 looks great but I wouldn't expect a realistic NASCAR simulator from it... still makes me want to go out an buy a PS3 though  lol

The first 3 were great, 4 was ok, but too many kiddies and wankers in the scene. I can't imagine what kind of wreck fests will happen online in GT5. I'd rather drive old shit on 'puters and hang out with all you cranky sobs.  :)

rally was introduced to the GT series in GT2, and i think that it's still the best the GT series has done at it. I played GT3 to death but GT4 was just more of the same again. I guess how many times do I need to play the same game against crummy computer drivers. i'll stick with computers for my racing sims from now on.

I agree. I did a hell of alot of GT2, and just 'some' in GT3 (I moved house and didnt play much). GT4 is as you say 'more of the same' ... So I'm guessing GT5 is 'EVEN more of the same' :D :D

For the last 3-4 years its been close to nothing but PC for me, something really exciting has to happen for me to get the PS3.

With GT1, 2, and 3 i raced and organized many leagues in which we used gamesharks and later sharkports to build our cars from memory addressed. this was otherwise known as hybrid building. I did this for many, many, many years when i didn't have a computer. we mostly did time trial races where you would submit your time. I had lots of fun with that and was hoping i could do more of the same with GT4 but the whole thing died. I still have binders full of memory addresses for both GT1 and 2. in truth the games un-modded has little to no replay value once you beat. only GT1 had replay value because there was a set of 4 championships that lead to beating the game. it was fun to see how bad of a car you could use and build up and still beat the game. it only takes a few hours to do.
