made me feel  :puke: i find all the blurry stuff makes it to hard on my poor old eyes

definetly one for the younguns  :twit:

first quick experience is very sloppy G25,
FFB would need a lot of setting up for my likening

sound,  fine in menus  and natter before race but as soon as i hit the gas car/road noise goes very quiet  and that's with in game volume maxed race over, sounds back

these are just my first impressions from a quick go when tired if i get chance i'll give it another go sometime next week but First "personal" impression  is the demo is as far as i would go with it  :salute:

I know it's just a demo, but is there anyone out there with a Quad-Core cpu, wondering if it uses all 4 ... or just pegs out 1 or 2?

What res/AA/AF are you running it at btw DP?

Trying to figure out what kind of machine i'm going to need ... :?:

Duo vs Quad ... 8800GT vs 9600GT ... My Desire vs My Guilt ... the list goes on...

There speaks the voice of all of us who have lusted after a G25, TrackIR, Rinoseat et al

"Look love, it's done now... and I'm sorry .. their returns policy is crap...we'll pay for it somehow"

1280x1024, 2xAA (in game setting), 16xAF (forced from drivers), everything else maxed.. fps never goes below 45-50 fps.

EDIT:Ive been playing this a bit online.. its funny how starting from last you gain a 1-3rd place on first corner just dodging all the wrecks lol

i agree was bad enough having to register just to try out a demo but then i had to try 6 links to get the demo as all the others either timed out or just simply didn't come up with the option to download  :knockout:

How many syllables?

You're not missing much IMO Ian. Until someone produces a hack to turn down the bloom/HDR stuff it's bright, blurry bunkum.

Aye...  but if this is a demonstration of what can be done with dx10 and Shader 3, then when someone a bit more sensible releases a game without overdoing the fancy gfx tricks, we're in for a treat.

The 'Community' have released a hack to let you tune the effects in DiRT and you can get it looking really good... I would imagine someone will develop a tweak for this also.

Yeah i love the DIRT utility, im one of the guys who dont like overly done HDR.
Im sure there will be one for Grid in no time.

Nice arcade racer, especially the Mustang race was quite nice with those jumps and corners that allow some nice drifting
Graphics are perhaps overdone, but I'm happy to notice it uses both my gfx cards and so I can run it at 1680x1050, 4xAA  :)

lol yeah gfx is v nice, i could run it on that with only one gfx card :P   altho most of the settings wont go show anything above "normal" so higher setting might not exist or could be locked for me?
only prob i have... the wheel is very unresponsive with it, havnt looked around the menus much so may be a sensitivity control hidden somewhere...

You can turn off the speed blur which helps some.. I will concede the replays are incredible .. but the controller lag makes it nigh on impossible with a wheel .. you have to maneuver about 0.5 seconds before you feel you should :)

Yep, indeed, I've noticed that terrible lag too (and so did Rik when he did a few laps at my place). Maybe it can be improved by some settings...  :?:

Hmm i dont have lag with either gamepad or wheel.. cant use my pedals though, the little i managed to test with wheel was actually helluva lot better than i thought.. but ill never use the default dfp pedals for any game! :grrr:
Maybe i can sort it, didnt really look into it yet. I have couple axis reversed so thats an issue on some games.

Seems the post processing crap is easy to get rid of. I'll have to give this a whirl when I get home.

Good find, allthough id be more interested in toning it down a little instead of removing completely.
(thats possible with DIRT so propably with this too) :)
