OSJ-GTR2 Changeable weather discussion

Glad someone other than myself enjoyed the wet & dry, pity the support dropped away & my $ probs paying for the fat pipe.
Gave away my game puter a year ago when I sold up on land & floated away.
But withdrawal symtoms too great so getting back into it with a new laptop & wheel, still floating on the briny.

Is that you Max? Maxlev from Hulme??? That would be great if we could see you driving again again..and even better if you`ll do it with us... :hats off:

To the Naw-Mod:
The Naw-Mod is programmed to make realistic weather...so you can`t except massive weather-changes...the only thing we could do is to increase the multiplier to have faster changes...that could be a solution...

The original changeable weather in GTR2 works only from session to session...it will not change during the session... thumbs down

There are other weather generators who play like the Naw-Mod with the "weather.txt" file...but there are not realistic in terms of region and time of year... :?:

I think that was something Max used at hulme...i remember well a race at Donington there...it was pissing down rain at the start, then sunshine with track drying up and as all were pitting for slicks it started pissing down again...one driver haven`t changed and stayed on rain tyres....he easily won the race...btw...the name of the driver was Maxlev... :innocent:

And that`s a bit of a problem...the guy who setup the server can know the weather but others not...this can give an advantage...it`s also possible to change the "weather.txt" file manually...
So i organise at our series that Gizmoto always calculate the Naw-Mod again close before the race start so that noone can have an advantage...

So i think we could end the season as it is and discuss and test the weather-thing again after the season in preparation for next season as far as there will be one....

Maybe it`s a good idea to set the multipiler from 1 to 3 so that the weather still changes realistic but faster...

Yes, I did know what the weather was up to at Hulme, set it manually to coincide with the pit stop and gave a weather forecast timeframe before race. Was aiming for brief rain then drying or the other way around.

Hardly fair maybe, but early days mucking around with the weather.
Pity I can't do that on my yacht, would have edited the 60 knot weather bomb a couple of months ago that I was anchored out in. Yuk.

May join in for some races soon, game is currently bog standard with plenty to d/load.

Great to see you back around Max :)

Thanks for the explaination on how the weather changes worked.

Ok, that cans that idea then :yep:

Yeah I like the idea of increasing the multiper, fast changes in weather do happen, hell they happen all the bloody time around here!! lol

Agree with everyone here :) Apart from Laguna we have not seen any real changes in weather and therefore pre race strategies have played out in all instances, so agree with Tony that more weather could be good.

However also agree with Frank, lets run out this season and discuss it further for the next one :salute:

Come off it, Giz! It's set for September, not the middle of summer!  I don't reckon it will be as good as you are forecasting!  lol

 rofl
So it will be stable...just rain, some more rain, thunder and rain or monsun...i don`t know if the critical guys from the NAW-Mod will be satisfied with this changeable weather... ;)
