Next Season
« on: October 22, 2007, 09:17:45 pm »
Despite the lack of support from OSJ drivers I am determined to continue with GTR2.
So what I am looking for here is some ideas for next season?
Fire away!!!

Well I'm battling over Race07 and GTR2 at the moment. If I can get GTR2, I will join in for the next season. It seems GTL interest is dying down to :( SD maybe heading this way from KDSR and he's keen for GTR and GTL so who knows what direction things may head in.

Great Mario... :hats off:

I`m happy that there seems to be a next...I will be there. :)

I like more the GT cars but it`s true that the NGTs make it much closer in the grid, and they are more forgiving...
Why not having mixed cars next season? Something like..GTs one round, next NGTs, then Special runs with per example the M3s...

Or sometihng i had at the Hulme-league: It was called Joker-race. We only new the time and date of the race. Track, Cars and weather were the surprises...and it even maked 1000laps practicing unneccessary. Was Cool...
(Btw, the admin maxlev choosed the following: BMW Z3, Rain and Barcelona-National)

I must say taht i am getting tired with the default-tracks. There are some great addon.tracks out there, which would make it realy interesting.

And i would like to make the fuel-saving not so important...Much better is to have higher tyre wear...

I even like more longer races than 2 short one...

So here is my personal wishlist if it will not be a "Joker"-Season:

Tyre-wear: x3
Fuel-usage: x2
Weather: Random (if noone has performance-issues)

Qualifying 1: Is a Qualy-Shootout possible??? per example only the best 5-10 are allowed to drive the Qualy 2?
Qualifying 2: Single lap...

Race length: 60 minutes to force for everyone 2-pitstops

Tracks:

Suzuka
Interlagos
Mugello
Spa
Brno
Nordschleife
Anderstorp
A street circuit like: Adelaide, Macau or Monaco

Specials:
Create a 2 driver Teamchampionship too..
If possible for the server: weight penalties (Coul be that it is not possible to setup)

But i will join all other race formats too  :yep:

I will try to make some friends from TripleP and Ex-Hulme hot for it...

Cu
Frank
 :peace out:

Yes..the only problem is to have addon-tracks for joker-races...we can`t be sure that all have them installed.

I think we should then have a long official practice so that all can setup the choosed car during this to be a little bit prepared for the race...

I`m realy intersted what the others think about that...would be something new for a league i think...

I'mmmmmmm lovin it!

Hard and fast  BABY, harrrrrr ha harrrrrr...

Frank nearrrrrly knows what he is talkin about sooooo...  we'll do it as a team and we'll do it my way:

Suzuka
Interlagos
Mugello
Nordschleife 24 hr
A1
Silverstone 1988
Estoril
Imola.
Ya got ta have a Yank track,  Laguna.
Maybe the Island or Adelaide from Stralia Mate.

1hr max, I reckon we could let an endurance slip through, at the Riiiing maybe, A!

2 x fuel

3 x tyre

Variable weather.

In another league they got weight penalties for da consistent winner's, JUSTIN!
&
Top ten shoot out, 2nd qualify session is used for this, we could have top 4 or somefin.  Not on my wish list this one, its just an idear as this is a  brain storming session isn't it.

Ban the red hepa of 550 for the fast blokes.

If we do all of that we might just pull it off, OOOOOOW ERRRRRR, that sounds a bit rude.

Regards,

Ray.

That sounds realy nice and democratic if we`ll do it your way, Ray... ;)

Weight penalty? How about... :?:...let`s say 500kg extra for Justin ???

Yes a longrun an the Nordschleife24 could be great...but than please with also day/night/day shifts...maybe LeMans24 is also good for this..but this one please only with the GTs...NGTs are a little bit boring on this longstraights...

Or ist it a converted track from this free BMW-game (made of Simbin) where they  pubilshed their new M3??

Yes, I think he means the track that comes with the BMW M3 Challenge.
It's got some updated textures compared to Simbin's previous (GTL) version if I'm not mistaken.
Looks nice  :)

Frank,

As T Hez said, the new BMW M3 Challenge GP track.  Shit hot, graphics are excellent with the light being more realistic.

However, the track textures are realy fine so it chews up memory, had to turn all the settings down to run it , its still great, BUT!

Deffinately a new favourite of mine.

Ok..here my Top 3 from addon tracks that i tested or raced so far:

Suzuka
Mugello
Zandvort GP-Layout

(and I recommend all to have a look at "Mo I Rana". Never had so much gravel-time on a track like here during the first laps...up and downs...blind corners...banked corners...fast...)

There are several more hot addon-tracks...some enthusiastic guys do realy a fantastic job with making these addons...

CHeers to them....

In my opinion,

Interlagos
Nurburgring GP

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
either the A1 orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Laguna.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Givin that I'm a very giving person, and I have the interest of my fellow comptitor's to consider, I'm BIG like that!   I'm gona say
A1 caus it would produce a phuggin good race.
 So its:

Interlagos
Nurburgring GP
A1

Out.

A1-Ring???? Yes...it seems boring after a first look, but Ray is right, it produces very good races...even in real life...

Plenty of corners for overtakin-attempts...i think with many drivers it would be very big fun...

I'm happy to do whatever tracks the masses want to do :)

How about cars?? season cars or do we change with our race finishes???

Justin did this nice table a few pages back....

Car      Reference Time (sec)   Class
F550         0          A
F575       +0.5        B
Lambo    +0.5        B
Salleen    +0.5       B
MC12     +1.0         C
Vette     +1.0         C
Lister     +1.0       C
Viper     +1.5        D

also need a car waaay slower than the Viper for Justin lol

??

A shame that we can`t setup weight penalties...that would fix the different car-speed.

If the table is correct and i think Justin is the best to rate it the we could do the following:

I think someone (maybe Mario or Gizmoto) should choose the car after the pure speed of the competitors.
Something like driver 1 has to choose a car from category "B" and driver 2 from category "A" and so on...

I realy looking forward to stick with one car the whole season to get use to it with every round...

Imola!!

Far you can setup weight penalties using the new GTR2 ded server manager - http://www.racingontheweb.net/RotW.forums/index.php?showtopic=1303

If that works that would be superb...but i don`t know if the great guys from Simjunkie who make the server are able to do it because of time and being available when the race starts...maybe Mario has an idea... :?:

It would be definitely worth a try...

But what is now with driver/car-selection? Do we still want to choose the slowest car for the fastest driver and so on? Or will we use the weight-penalties?

I heard Justin plans with the Viper (Car-class D), so i drive with the same or maybe one of the car-class C...and then i think the Corvette...i hate right-seaters and cars where i can`t see mirrors...and the good thing on the C5: Nice car for drifting, so it should suit my driving style...

Yeah..can`t wait for it...

Hoping its fairly simple to do....
I would rather not be spending my practice time mucking around with weights.

:yep:...no problem with your car-choice Dammit...

i think Brent and Luke are faster as they have already shown...it they get these weapons as described form justin, they will have a real good chance....

I think the next season will be very intersting and i expect many differnet winners. The goal will be to score always as much points as possible...Rounds with 0 points could be a problem...

Can`t wait for the start...

Can you give an indication of what I should drive?
I haven't done much GTR2 yet and the races I did run I was clearly but not very much slower than Frank I think.  :?: Mid pack I would say.
Just an indication.  :)
I have no grudge against any car in any sim so, tell me what I'll drive and I'll drive that whenever I can attend an event with you esteemed gentlemen.

i think you shoud choose a class B car for the beginning. You`re definitely not much slower than me (about 0.5-0.75s a lap). You could close this gap with driving not so much different leagues and concentrate on GTR2. I know you will not do this so i think this car class makes you competitive without practicing 1000laps per race as som guys do here... ;)

Because of also introducing the weight-penalties we can slow down every driver, if he gets win after win...i think a heavy weight F550 with +120KG penalty would be a new car-class E...

Cu...

Frank
 :peace out:

IF you want me to run the points table for your next season can you let me know in plenty time before your season starts what you actually want as far as points and car class is concerned if any so i can work out the table before the season starts

i just work out a fun table for the Euro season as there are a big choice of car class HERE. to give you a possible idea  but it's up to you guys all i need to know is what you want so i can try and work it out  ;)

That would be brilliant if you could do it again Giz,I think the system we ran with last season was fine.

Guys, Ray asked if i could pick a 'C' class car. (something about it means its 'C' for 'Cool') I will take a Lister even though they sound like a sewing machine running on 2 stroke.

as a none Member or applicant you wouldn't be able to run in a league race anyway Vancaster may i bring this thread to your attention as it explains  the process that will allow you to race http://www.simjunkies.org/Forum/index.php?topic=755.0

I'm sorry if you feel becoming a member isn't for you but there is no way we can allow our passworded servers to be used by none members we run them with passwords to keep them safe from wreckers and the like
