GTR2 Tips/Advice

Righto guys this is a totally different kettle of fish to GTL and if you try to drive the same way there will be trouble!
The tire model is much much better than GTL and so tactics and tire conservation is much more of a factor.
If you drift it round you will destroy your tires very quickly.
Also there are 3 different brands of tire, all with different characteristics.
Pitstops are crucial.
Turn auto-pit off and bind a key to ignition and starter.
You will need to cut the engine in the pits before they will refuel the car!.
Damage!!!!!,this is much more harsh and realistic than gtl.
You cannot afford to crash or your race will be gone, these cars are pretty fragile.
Consistency will be key!
Also in a long race it is very easy to blow your engine, you must be carefull when shifting gears to not over rev and cook the engine.
There is a setup pack at no-grip which I suggest you grab.

I had my first (non-public) gtr2 race with the ESJ guys last round, mario was right about the engine thing - I was careful not to blast the tvr to hell and back (because of his prewarning) and was limping along in 5th or so I think, then I passed three 911's parked up on the side of the track with smoke coming out and finished up 2nd!  o:

Cheers for the setups Mario . They work Good  :excellent:
Done a few laps around zhuhai in Lister , Lambo , Viper &Masi all around 1:32 . How do you choose which car for which track , they all seem the same to me :)

Any chance any of you GTR2 aliens want to post some base setups for the GT cars? Instead of spending hours working out that the online ones suck, It would be a time-saver and extremely helpful for us learners to have a stable base to work from  :ty:

Also some honest suggestions about track/car combos would be appreciated, I feel a bit overwhelmed at times with this game. Thanks guys  :)

Did you grab the setup pack I posted, theres many a good set in there.
In terms of the cars well thats a bit more difficult and depends a bit on how you drive.
The two Ferraris are the fastest almost anywhere.
The Lambo,Maserati , Saleen and the  Lister[especially so]have nice handling,but lack  power.
The Vette and Viper are the slowest imo.
I would suggest you run a few laps in each car to find the combo you feel comfortable with.
In all honesty the default setups are pretty good, alter the wing settings depending on the circuit and the usual steering lock, brake bias to your liking.
For example Monza you dont want much downforce at all, whereas Zhuhai you want more.    :salute:

On some cars the setups by default definitely dont work for me.. setups are very personal thing.. its really hard.
I would post some setups but i dont have many for GT cars, also i dont remember which are good. Id imagine Mario has load of good setups in that pack, and with little figuring out its not that hard to find good setups online. (uploaders name, laptime in set description, rating etc. things that give good hint is the set crap or good)
