Well working on the theory, that I make it on to the grid and the cobra's tyres hold out for 20 minutes  :jawdrop: it will be another great OSJ season. As for skins the cars are looking great pity I never got time to get a THC cobra skinned  :( oh well the joys of taking on real life skin jobs for mod teams I suppose. And now back to photoshop only 117 more skins to fin before the next stock update.

See ya on the track I hope

I can't speak for them of course but if you ask nicely there would probably another paintmaster collegue of yours who could make you that skin Monty?

The season looks good to me, although, just a first hunch, the track choice seems to favour the big blocks.
No whining here though.

We have two GT40 races and no Elan right?
Birmingham in Elan's would be very good I think.  :)
And GT40's at the Glen wil be VERY nice!
Is it the old Watkins Glen version or one of the newer layouts?
Glen Long would give the slower cars a better chance I think and is VERY niceimo.

Zolder  -Ferrari 275gtb    leaning towards bigblock, though good handling can make up nice time
Mosport  -Shelby Daytona Coupe big block easily
Bugatti Le Mans - Chev Corvette Probably slightly favouring handling, though has a few nice straights
Watkins Glen  - Ford GT40 big block for sure
Road Atlanta -  Tvr Griffith big block again
Paul Ricard 88 - Jaguar E-Type probably big block though handling will make up so much in the back half
Istanbul -  Ac-Cobra [/b] id say handling here[/b]
Spa Enduro always a even track, elan and DC have same time
Birmingham-Ford GT40 handling easily
Zandvoort 67-Austin Healey again it will be close

Because OSJ runs shorter races and 1x tyre the big blocks can usually get away with their tyre chewing antics but its still a factor. Faster qualify doesnt mean faster race pace. However if the driver has the skills its possible to combat tyre wear for quite a while (ive done 1hr races in cobra with no tyre change and still pumped out fast laps at the end) and the cars are still fast when slidey, example, GT350 pace last season, even towards end of race we was still hauling arse.

I think its a nice balance and look forward to the tracks. Each car has advantages and disadvantages and its just upto the drivers to make the most of it. Other than mosport and probably road america im not fearing to many tracks even driving the healey which compared to the rest of the class is a snail in a straight line.

Decent line up and it should produce some nice racing.

I agree with Fryz.

Don't mix up Road Atlanta with Road America though mate, the big block guys might get ideas, oh dear. lol.
Atlanta might give you a better chance than America.

Istanbul? Remains to be seen. Sure it needs handling but a well handled Cobra, geeeeez. Good stuff!
In GTC76 I think the other cars have no chance against the Pantera, though the Vette might be harder, have to check times for that.)

I hope Spa could be a REAL enduro this season,..... 2hours?  :yep:

What I experienced at Zandvoort67 was a surprise.
It's an old very fast track but my Elan time was only 1 second off my GT40 time so I think it will be a VERY close race like Dion said, great!
Sooo nice to run this track with OSJ, it's a privilege.
I know I have more things to do but I copuld spend the rest of the week testing all the combo's!

Caspar.

ah yeah.. in that case it will probably favour the handling though a good driver in big block could do damage also.

So many of these tracks come down to the driver to decide what car is better or worse. Some guys would struggle to drive a big block down a straight and others can make it turn like an alfa. I really wouldnt be too caught up in it all. Learn ya car and you will do damage at any track. Just look at what riven and myself did last season in a bloody jag.

Quite a convincing example I say.

I hope I won't get in trouble with the 'no drop races'.
I'll buy 3 extra alarm clocks !
Thankfully we don't start next weekend cause I'm away.
When I'm at Goodwood I won't race unless Ted ties me to his wheel on Sunday morning while the rest  head off to the Revival...

My spotting is brilliant but I'm not so sure about yours  rotfl

Thanks for the update sir.
While I'm still moaning;
would Hidden Valley make a good season final?
I would rather replace Birmingham's GT40 with Elans, but, you know me, I race anything anywhere and find the joy that lies within, hahihoppo!  :excited:

Thanks Henry.  :ner ner:

Hi all,

I made a little excell sheet for this season.
It includes all GTLRank records that were there today and you can fill in your own times in both the designated car for you and for the track.

Happy lapping!

Caspar.

NB
- I did it rather quckly, so if I have forgotten a car or missed a time, sorry.
- All Cobra's, fast and slow versions, are together in GTLRank and so are the 65 and 76 Vettes so I only will put fastest OSJ time that is known to me.- some Rank records are not the fastest I would imagine and some track/car combos have only 3 times registered but hey, it's a start.

All tracks are on Rank now, thanks Kristof!

IF YOU GUYS LIKE THIS STUFF SOMEHOW I CAN MAKE AN UPDATE FROM TIME TO TIME WITH A DATE . I WOULD NEED YOU GUYS TO SEND ME A LAP TIME IF YOU IMPROVE A RANK RECORD, OK? PM IS BEST I THINK. THEN I WILL UPDATE THE SHEET WITH NEW TIMES HIGHLIGHTED AND YOU CAN COPY YOUR OWN TIMES INTO THE NEW VERSION.

Ah, now we're talking. :salute:

Indeed, if signori Federico & Marini can't get under 1.50 it's hard to believe, even if Pluginz is a regular top ranker.

Well, go check it out I say. :toast:

There's a couple more of those doubtful times like I said before..

Caspar.

Are you ok by the way with the E-type? I wouldn't want you to drive a car that's no fun for you just because some of us think your to quick for a stronger car. Just my view.

And do you have a Rank name?

Well done Montioli!

I have updated the sheet and for the slower Cobra, I put only OSJ times in, so....bring it on!

Caspar.
