North American Driver Campaign
« on: July 31, 2007, 12:26:37 am »
"My fellow (North) Americans"

It has come to my attention that the few loyal North American drivers here are disappointed.  Disappointed by the seemingly small interest in road racing by their North American Brothers.  Disappointed by the lack of races in the fine automobiles found in GT-Legends.

An October 2006 Census estimated the population of North America at 514,600,000.  That over half a billion people!  Now I ask myself, where the hell are all the race fans?  I don't know the answer to that question.  But I plan on finding out!

During the month of August I will be posting on other forums looking for participants to join us on the track for our fall 2007 NA GTL season.  This season will run from the first week of September through the end of the year.

Any suggestions for this series are welcome.  Tracks, Cars, Day of the week are all open to suggestion at this point.

During the month of August we will be running a clean install of GTL on the server.  And racing it on Sunday's.  Meaning no add on tracks, no add-on cars to mess with.  So buy a copy of GT-Legends and give it to a friend.  These races will be open to anyone.  No membership necessary.

Let's fill the grid and represent for the North American Continent!

I personally will send out a few free copies of GT-Legends if needed.  So if need be let me know.

Wonderful news Marcus! I haven't driven this game in months but look forward to joining back in the fun. If the requests for copies gets to be more than a few I can spring for some also.  :) I'm trying to talk a il2 pilot at work into joining. Going to loan him my old DFP to get started, share my plr and setup files and do a lan so he learns the basics. Of course I would share these files with anyone interested!
Let's get it back on track NA!  :gtg:

We'll work this to suit the few NA drivers who plan on participating.  Judging by the lack of replies, I've got my work cut out for me.

No worries though.

I want you guys to share any ideas you may have to make this league one so enjoyable nobody would pass it up.  GT-Legends isn't new any longer so building a new league is going to take innovation, and publicity.

:)

Don't have the game, but will try to pick it up in the coming weeks.  80GB hard drive doesn't stretch as far as it used to.

Okay, the funnest part of starting a new season.  Picking the day.  What day/time is best for you all.  We can run any day, even late Saturday night if you feel it's best.  So voice what you like, and what works for you and we'll go from there.

Maybe better to put energy on the races you try to build Sunday's
as internationnal open races, good time window for north Americans!

Saturday or Sunday nights would allow me to join you for a most of these races.

As far as cars/tracks, I have only one suggestion - Mosport/TC65  :om:

I think I worked this out right.

Sunday 8 pm pacific coast time = Sunday 3 pm new Zealand time.

Perhaps some Kiwis and Aussys are keen to join in.

You are correct in your calculation by hour but not by day - it would be Monday for you, 3pm.

ummmm, I think anyway  lol

I have thunk deeply about this.

And I think I need to think some more.

There is an international date line I need to take into account somewhere.

Somewhere.
