I think I'm gonna have to try this.   :)  The more I read your thoughts and impressions of it, the more intrigued I get.

And, though I hate the idea of another monthly expense (plus the additional expense of buying more cars and tracks)  thumbs down ...Who knows?   :dunno:  Maybe I'll like it!

  And, MAYBE, I'll eventually get good enough to win a race or two...  :podium: And, MAYBE EVEN get a DATE with one of the podium babes!!   smackeroo

OK...NOBODY WAKE ME UP!!      rofl

Well... I did it.  I got a podium finish.  I should have had FIRST though.

I started with pole.  I led for nine laps with number two about a half second behind.  Coming in hot to turn number one there was an ass-hat leaving pits and completely oblivious that the leaders were closing in.  I had to cut a bit wide and on turn one at Limerock that is disaster.  Off I went into the wall...  the car was drivable but not stable.  Still managed to hold on for a P3.  Mostly due to the fact that those behind me wrecked like no other.

Positive note is that my Safety Rating jumped a full half point.  Now at a 3.42  :excited:

I think a lot of drivers are doing Time Trials rather than Qualifying as they seem to mean more in the whole scheme of the ratings system.
The qualifying doesn't seem to be a major factor in the iRating or ttRating so you might as well spend your time in time trials and try to better your rating. :?:
Qauly might mean more in a real 12 race season once the divisions are set up and your serious about points :yep:

A race starts in less than thirty minutes.  It's all I can think about.  lol  Must resist!  But it's Soooo tempting.

:gtg:  not enough hours in the day.

My wife must have seen the longing in my eyes.  She looked at me seductively and said, "Marcus... do you want to go race?".  I didn't have the heart to tell her no.

I had what was my best race yet.  Started second on the grid.  I already knew the guy behind me in grid 3 was faster so once the lights went green I gave him the inside line and subsequent pass at turn one.

I quickly closed in behind nr2.  Then some over confident driver passed me on the second lap and cooked it into the grass about two turns later.

I was able to maintain third place until lap seven.  I was passed when slowed for lapping traffic.  When I saw what happened I was upset at myself for being overcautious.  I closed in behind the now number 3 position.  I tailed him as hard as I could for six or seven laps.  Often times being only a tit's length behind him.  He was only about 4/100ths of a second slower than me on average, and I was having a great time.

Then something weird happened.  For the first time ever, someone got tired of me behind them, and he LET ME PASS!  I was glad to get the position back, but now the pressure was on me.  Only I think he had decided to focus on finishing the race without incident.  He backed off about ten car lengths and we putted along a second or two slower to the finish.

Amazing stuff.  I really hope this practice translates to GTL on Friday.  :gtg:

No excuses.  Unless work makes me miss race 1.  Seems to happen most weeks.

Wonder if I can race 900 degrees wheel setting in GTL.

I wouldnt change it for GTL.  While iRacing uses 900, you never really use that much.  I have my GTL setup at 400 with a typical steering lock of 15 degrees.  Works on all but the tightest tracks and some pit exits where I might go up to 18.

I have no problemn going between iRacing and GTL steering wise.

Congrats on the win and a SR above 3, now go do the same in a legends car.  I am by no means a circle fan but its fun.  Different crowd...but fun.

Marcus you seem to be doing quite well in the Rookies and hopefully when you get a chance to move up you will enjoy the faster cars and the ability to do setups.

I apologize for talking during my race the other night..I hadn't been in the lead at Infineon before and had to tell someone. At least you were there to hear that I got my first Skip Barber win! Hopefully more willl come now.

Glad your enjoying it. Tom as well.

Is the Iracing site down for anyone? I can't access it from my phone.  I'm trying to slack at work, and there's not enough fresh reading material on our forum. lol

What little I've run this week, I still enjoy the game.  Just been busier than feels comfortable.

Looking forward to sliding off VIR this week.  I hope to get enough practice in to actually race.  Last week I never did get to do a race on Infineon.
