Yeah its a good idea.. hmm about the FFB issues, i wonder if you have something wrong in the settings and dont know it, as especially the skippy can break an arm hitting a bump when its set to 10% strength in the game.. Someone thought the game had really soft FFB but there was something wrong, just cant remember who it was and what was wrong.

as any real racer will only train in a real car.

Motor sports giants like mclaren and williams have spent millions on simulators for there drivers to train.

Yeah, there is however a big difference in between the solstice and the skippy... I had it set to 18 in game (and 101% in windows) and that was good for the solstice, but just like Marcus said, for the skippy it was clearly too much. I think I'm using 12 right now.

Heres my experiences and reason why i didnt continue iRacing at this time.

iRacing:

1/8 of a bottle of very expensive quality whiskey, which you will enjoy with some strangers, without music, only bit of formal chatter and strict rules when to have a sip.. if you dont feel like having a sip, you still need to pour it to the ground.

rFactor/GTR2/Race07 and GTR Evolution etc:

Several bottles of decently good whiskey, enjoyed with your friends, lots of music and chatter and fun. You can drink as bloody much as you like, and if you dont wanna have some for a while you lose nothing.

Surely i know which one ill pick.

Yeah great analysis Jarkko, and exactly the same reasons I haven't renewed :yep:

The whole thing just feels a bit too serious for my liking

I'm in for a year.  Haven't raced in weeks though.   thumbs down

Excellent way of putting it Jarkko.

Do you guys remember when Jarkks was shy about his English skills?  lol  Long gone are those days.  Now he speaks it with more authority than me!

I agree Jarkko. iRacing is great, the best tracks, and great driving feel (probably closest to the real thing imo). But, and its a big but, its too expensive for me and I feel like there is really no point sometimes. I Feel like I am just racing driving to get my safety rating to go up, but then what. I can't set up my own race with my prefrences, I have to do races that iRacing is hosting. I can't have a private server that only my buddies can join. Don't get me wrong though, iRacing is very fun and I enjoy it, its just simply not for me. I subscribed only for 1 month and I won't renew, until I either have more money to throw at it, or something great comes out that I would like to drive. I say to everyone, that if you have $20.00 to spare, then get it for 1 month, to try it out. I think that it is definitely worth it. :)

 thumbs up

I've renewed for 3 months and if they don't add any European(/Asian) content and some of the missing features (save replays for instance) than I won't renew again.
I'm probably going to combine iRacing with a Simbin sim (probably GTL or GTR2) for the reasons Jarkko has put forward  ;)
