I respect the fact that you dont like the software, not everyone will and that is perfectly normal.  Everyone has different preferences.
If you are a second late to join the server will definately show 0 drivers and could be what your screenshot demonstrates. I only race at 9:15 pm (LM)and 10:15 (Skippy)pm eastern and we usually have from 50 to 70 drivers registered.
Anyway, the new GTR2 expansion is coming soon and you may really like that thumbs up

What he said. :)

(and dont understand the purpose of Franks post)

EDIT:I must add that i felt bit bad about someone saying "the game is too easy" after working my ass off to get to some speed and get proper control of the cars.. enough challenge for me!
So sorry Mac about that.

here is a post from another site i made, it's a bit OTT but it says how i feel in part, please note i had another go at the solstic at laguna, man it does my head in.  i'll see what the legends are like with a road setup for the road tracks with no mad offsets.

i'm f***ing very sorry, but i'm not going to even give any of my time to prove to some automatic w*** points system that i can drive.

that american bit of s*** car the solstic or something omfg, come to europe and driver like a car to go shopping in, it has more steering load, man it's like got a parking button in a fiat or something. i'm not doing another mile in that rubbish car it kills me to drive it.

i see no need to defend a game, like it was a holy war or something.

now i ride bikes and i don't need to get on some fagot ****** to tell you that it's a gutless peice of s***, with no brakes, so i don't think that iRacing should be that same, give us a car that moves on the throttle like the legend on a real track , f*** me where do people get off on ovals.

please note i'm over 40 years old and also didn't get the PS2 stuff, but i can tell you all about the way the games have been constructed to make you want to be the best with the rank systems. some people just can't help it. in fact you could make a science out of the positive reward thing, sort of like training a dog.

man that was like heavy shit, roflmao

Positive:
Tracks are high quality, very realistic.
Cars behave pretty realtistic imo
Penalty system discourages wrecking, cutting, ...
You pay as long as you're satisfied with the service (if you don't renew after one month it will only cost you 20 dollars and not 60-70 dollars like full games costs) Because of this, the makers will more likely fix bugs, improve tracks/cars, ...
The rating/licence system makes this game very addictive
There are always people to race against at any time  lol

Negative:
Penalty system is far from perfect, if there is contact, both offender as victim get negative points...
The game needs more content, especially European or Asian cars & tracks would be more than welcome.
Lack of (advanced) controller settings (like clutch/brake pedal sensitivity)
Prices for additional cars and tracks are pretty expensive

Well at the moment I will not continue my subscruption.

I love the solstice and the legends cars, but that's really the only ones that appeal to me. I don't care much for openwheelers and would love to see more tin tops introduced (sports car, alms, anything!) That and some more diversity of tracks would be nice. The problem is that in cars I want to drive, there are only a handful of tracks I can drive on. I wanna race the solstice on the half courses of VIR etc. Hope they get some better cars out soon (not that the skippy and mazda aren't good, but they don't really do it for me) For now I will just enjoy the rest of my month and then keep an eye out for updates. :)

ok, man laguna s*cks so much in solstice i'm not joking it's suicide stuff.

laguna, they should move the off track triggers about 25cm further away from the track or even 1/2 a metre more away from the track a the exit to corner, if you've gone that wide your not coming back anyway.

the Solstice is a totally different machine at lime rock, fun in a way worth driving.

but before you bin iRAcing, buy the radical it's a total RIOT on any track including laguna and on all layout of birmingham.

i'm still not going to renew

Solstice @ Laguna is indeed challenging, but thats one big part of the fun in game for me.. challenge!
Whether it comes from laptimes, or mastering a vehicle.

Decided i'm gonna continue my subscription even though i am really really struggling with the solstice... i dont even think ive done a clean lap around laguna in it... i just cant master it AT ALL. I know i can drive... i just cant put my finger on it. I got the mazda and im brilliant in that... but i cant drive it in a race... cos im a rookie. That part sucks for me. Maybe im just cack in a slow crap car. I'll stick with it though

Edit.. forgot to say i am probably struggling so bad with the solstice because its so realistic, which isnt such a bad thing really

Just be patient Steve. The Solstice is very hard to master for sure but just try to do your best without doing more than you can. Get the SR up there and move on to better rides thumbs up

Im starting to change my mind.. Only combo ive actually purely enjoyed was Skip Barber @ VIR, simple dont seem like worth the money atm, i have barely touched the game for 2-3 days and frankly dont feel too tempted to do so.. Im thinking.. maybe i should look at this again when theres actually some interesting content.. as you really cant say how long it takes for them to move to European tracks or interesting cars.. So yeah.. im really undecided, propably will continue one month forward, and decide during that one.. unless i allready made my mind before the renewal time.

My first month expired this week.  Due to the upcoming move money is tighter than ever.  I'm waiting for the public release because I should have money by then.  I'm hoping some updates will be released then.

I'm going to keep at it.  I'm going to need SOMETHING to do while I am living alone in a new State.

i'm interested to find out what will happen when my subscription runs out.

i think my login and password will work, so i can re-tick the re-subscription box

but what will i see if i look for races,

will it let me look and see all the races that are being raced in every class and all skill levels

or

will it say, no active racing account you can't look at the races.

if it's the second answer, than i'm not likely to re-sign up incase there is nobody racing anything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'm going to be buying a year.  $156 ($13/month) isn't bad when compared to a lot of other things...Cigarettes ($6.50/pack)...Gas ($4.00/gallon)...Dinner for two at BURGER KING  lol ($15-$20)...

However, the thought of investing even more money on additional cars and tracks still bothers me. I just checked the prices and found that all tracks are $25 or less, and most cars are $15. Those prices don't seem too bad either, except that investing in them is like leasing a car.

When you lease a car, you have nothing to show for your money at the end of the lease. If at some time in the future I discontinue my subscription, any money spent on additional cars and tracks is lost and there is nothing to show for it. $15 here, $20 there...It adds up fast and potentially becomes a lot of money thrown away.

But, I guess that isn't so unlike a lot of other things.  (The 12 pack of beer I bought today is half gone)  lol  I'll just have to resist the urge to buy too many extras right away.

 Yea...I'm gonna get a one year subscription.  :)

I almost forgot...Steve, there is post on the iRacing forum that has recommended settings for the G25 (in Windows Control Panel).  Maybe they'll help.

Wheel Rotation: 900 degrees

Force Feedback Strength: 101%
Spring Strength: 0%
Spring Damping: 0%

Wheel Centering Spring: 0%

At least, I think that's what they were. I use some wheel centering spring cuz it feels more natural to me. And I'm tweaking the spring damping a bit to keep the effects from being too jarring.

I'm not very fast, but here's what I've found with the Solstice...If I use very light braking just as I start my turn in, it gets the car rotating just enough, and I can get bact on the throttle from the apex through the exit. I'm generally able to hold my speed in the turns better with that technique.

I hope this helps.  thumbs up

Brake into the apex, then smoothly on the throttle.. theres a name for that.. trailbraking. ;)

i like to do other things at the same corners, depending on what the car is doing, for hot laps (something i can't do anyway) there might only be one way (sort of) but for racing you need a few more tools, limerock T4 the right hander is a great example of a corner that you can use a different techniques on when racing.

better start racing before it runs out.

try 400 degrees Ray

i would say that 900 degrees is the ONLY way in iRacing, but matter of taste maybe.

Well, you can of course use less if you want non-linear steering and unoptimised way to do it.

Say whatever you say, but put anything but 900 degrees and its not linear steering, never said it was real, just that the game makes the steering non-linear whenever you use different rotation.
