Aug 1 changes
« on: August 01, 2008, 11:07:48 pm »
If anyone looked at the new homepage you will see lots of new changes coming for iRacing. A new update to the sporting code will take effect soon and it should be interesting to see what changes are being made. There is also a new Series for the Season Three 2008 (was called Fall Season) in that they are adding the SK Modifieds. Formula Mazda and Silver Crown also are added to this new season. It really looks like the folks at iRacing are listening to the customers and thats what is great about them.

Oh..check out the new Stats page as well. Very cool changes made.

Looks very good. :)  I'd prefer the SK's if I'm going to run circles.  :gtg:

Depends on what content you wanted to run.  If you were content to run the base cars, and an extra model.  That would probably stretch out to six months or so.  Give or take a month.

Or it could buy you a year, but that would be with no extra content.

When Jett cools off, he's probably got a better answer than me.  :)

Id like to have at least the Skippy, im not at all interested running in the ovals, so can count those out. Id of course want some tracks too. Aint there also the fact that if you dont own the track that they want you to run, you simply cant run but offline practice?

6 month subscription would sound optimal.

The iRacing site is down right now.  I think they are switching everything over for the 4th quarter season.

The skippy is 15.00 USD if I remember right.  And I had to pick up two tracks to run the fall season.  So you'd get through three months that way.  Then when they switched seasons you might have to get another track or two.  Or switch to another series.

Yes it is expensive.  But I would suggest you try it.  It is worth at least a three month trial.

when you buy a years subscription before 31st august you recieve 60 bonus iracing dollars straight away and then another 15 after 31st august...
Add the fact that when you spend enough money you get everything for 20% off.. So i managed to get 125 worth of content for only 40 bucks, and i still will get a bonus 15 next month which i could use to buy another car or track.

Doh!  Yes I forgot about that.

If you do a year before August 29th.  You get loads of credits.  Best go for the year.

Sorry, I have other things on my mind.  Shouldn't be answering questions right now. :(

Thanks.
So the year would be best option.. feck.. i might just have to do it.. if i had one year subscription i might not be as pressured to play only iRacing then, thats the thing which is my major concern.
And the price for one year is max i can afford atm.. allthough i dont know how well Jay Leno pays me, might get some extra racing money from there.

Get the year Jarkko.  The starter cars will keep you plenty busy, and very entertained for now.  Then when you have a few extra bucks, you can decide if you would like more content.
