my name is neville aka mental nev
i'm from sheffield england and looking to get into online racing on the pc,totally new to pc racing and just swapped over from consoles.Have'nt got a clue about pc's apart from turning on and off

. I have ben looking around the site and looks like i may just fit in with a name like mental,

look forward to hopefully catch some of you online, the only games at the moment i got are race 07,gtr evo,STCC and GTR2
I'm 42 which is too old for gaming but too young too retire

I think 42 will make you almost "junior" around here, so its definitely not too old!

Welcome! Always glad to see new people around here. With the games you have, you should be set for playing around here, the only other game you could need in the future is GTL and rFactor. 42 is a good age to be around here, you will not feel old for being a person that plays sims.

got GTL but not suposed to know as its a fathers day present from my boy

I'm sorry mate. I did just get the new application fixed so it would send Emails.

What sort of problems did you have? I'd like to fix them if possible.

Manc Here, but don't let that put you off

Take your time to look around, but if the whisper of you getting GTL is correct then you might be in for a treat come Friday nights. It's our 'social' event where we get pissed as farts and go tear arsing through the virtual world in our pretend cars (we use a communication ap called Ventrilo which you will read about in your welcome eMail I think). Get yourself a headset (the language can be fruity at times) and we'll be glad to meet you.

There's a healthy GTR scene here so you should find plenty to do (good advice about rFactor though, it's cheap and there is a host of community developed modifications for it ... F1, touring cars, lawnmowers... you name it)

the problem was with letter verification took 5 atempts,after 1st try thought it might not be case sensative so tried lower case and still failed but it finally went through

Welcome to Sim Junkies Neville, you will find the age "Barrier" has been removed from the SJ vocabulary, we use no words costing more than $1.00(too difficult to spell) and the more colorfull ones are available on rental basis only

Everybody starts somewhere, you have found one of the best groups of people to help you into Sim Racing and Mental Therapy all under the same roof, we might be a little "left" of plumb, but find it helps on hard right corner entrys
