Okay, I understand that LCDs in essence don't actually "refresh". I get that most are set at 60Hz.

 I noticed since adding an HDMI-DVI cable to ikine it now has a 50Hz option.

 What is the point of this? What does it do? is there any reason to use it?

 Figured this was the right place to ask as search came up with no "real" info at all.

50Hz might be more for TV's than computer monitor per say, generally HDMI is used to connect a TV to a computer... I really don't know though, just grabbing at straws

Ehr.. lcd and on 50 hz.... i usually only see other options in Hz when i've got the resolution not set to the recommended (mostly the highest for the monitor) setting... so.. ehm...

are you horsing around again on 800x600 cuzz it looks much bigger.. or do you just refuse to use those readingglasses.... there is this thing called "icon sizes" you know...
