Ventrilo and AlfaTina

Greeeetings my Speeeeedy Friends!   :hats off:

My issue is this:

 :grr:  When I am frolicking on the track with lots of drivers, such as AlfaTina, and using Ventrilo, I get quite a bit of audio breakup.   :bang:

Is there a way to reduce the quality of Ventrilo, in order to reduce its bandwidth requirement?  Does running Ventrilo w/ DirectSound perhaps take extra processing power? :occupied:

:toast:  I would like to enjoy the drunken AlfaTina experience to it's fullest, and at the moment, I am not able to take in, the rubberized mayhem, at the level that SJ has intended.

Can anyone please help a fellow Junkie?   :ty:

Yes, I have done the compression thingy, and when I get home, I'm gonna mix myself up a batch of AlfaTinis!!

well before you sip that first alfatini, try setting the priority for vent a little higher in your task manager   chin chin  :toast: :hats off:

Ehr... are you sure it's not the boose we are using?   it might alter voices as the night wears on.


You might also want to run the CCCLeaner utility though... as your computer might be "clogging" up.
(make sure you have all the passwords on paper or in your mind... as you might have to ask some of them back... depending on your browsing habits...)


it clears up the space on your computer, as windows has the nasty tendency to keep stuff on the hdd... see it as an attic.... you throw the stuff up there that you dont use on a daily basis... and every couple 20 years you go up there and throw it out anyways... just like windows does it...except, YOU are the one cleaning it out.

Thanks, Steiny.  I run that stuff religiously.  My system is cleaner than a 17 year old girl headed to the nunery!

I use two PCs, my 'game' pc is for transmitting with a push to talk button on the wheel but that vent is muted, and my other PC has no input but all the output comes through that. It allows me to see who is connected/speaking and to adjust volume seperately while in game etc.

I'm not sure my setup will help if your issue is bandwidth or processing power though cos I'm still running vent on my game machine and actually using double the bandwidth :hmm:
