I left the keys on and ran the dishwasher with no heat for drying and no detergent. I'm through day one of drying. We'll see how it goes (I plan to let them air dry for 3-5 days)...
I remember when I was a kid, my Dad found an old TV in the incinerator room of our building. COVERED in soot and dust. Being a simple man, (I even then cringed at the thought!) he washed it with a hose!!
Left it a couple months or so and when he plugged it in (BOOM!! just kidding..) it worked perfectly. We used it for many years after.
So, sure, just leave it long enough to be throughly dry and it might just work.
(On the other hand, Car & Driver drowned a Nissan Maxima in Mexico once, 1980? something like that. Tried to washe the computer with a Toothbrush in the Motel sink. Um.....it came back on a tow truck......teeheehee..Did better then the Chrysler K-car they hit a cow with at speed anyways....cow flipped oner the roof denting it over the windshield....or was it a Bull?)
