Since my latest blooper on MOBO I got irritated and bought Asus P5QL PRO MOBO and E8400 3.00GHZ C2Duo as a combo until I7 gets cheap enough for me to bother.

This at least will bring me joy for a good time......

Actually it was the E6750.

Stock speed at 2.66Ghz.
But the Abit Ab9 PRO had 1066FSB as stock and needed to be patched to work halfly on 1333. Not a good option and did slow things down a bit on other things aswell.

This MOBO feels very much better right away. I did research it and I did go to my regular shop this time, i can thrust them.
He gave me this and a 750 SLI asus card to choose from. i took this as i need not SLI and it was cheaper. about £80 or so. the CPU I got for about £ 150 I think it was. So not to bad really.

Now go OC the crap out of the bugger!

Well, my mobo seems to get very high systems temps. It goes fast up to 45 degrees when it idles at 31. I am using speedfan to monitor, as they show same temps as truetemp.
I have one 124mm fan in the rear of my case(sucktion), I have one 124mm fan in the side of my case (blowing towards the GFX and northbridge) ,The 8800GFX card has a good fan on its own.
Cannot remember my cpu cooler. it is a big sucker. blue orb something.

Everything running high. I have disableled the BIOS settings Q-fan thingy. Using Sppedfan to do speeds. Still overheating. Maybe not overheating, but running hot on demanding games.
I have read it takes 50 degrees C without issues, but I am not at all used to this high temps. And I do not like it. So I ordered some stuff.

My new specs will be this.

CPU: E8400 3.00 Ghz C2D
MOBO: Asus P5QL PRO (P43 chipset)
RAM: 4GB 880ddr2 (2 dual sticks)
GFX: 8800 GTS PCX 512

Damn, I thought I did a post here about the P43 chipset being not so good for OCing, but imo being a better chipset than the 750i.

Is that 50 degrees Celcius your CPU temp? Because that's not alarming then.

ive got the same mobo and same cpu (with stock cooling) and its pretty good, usually sitting around 20-30 idle and 50 if im playing something realy hungry. To be weary off tho is i dont know about you but i cant put my computer into sleep... it simply wont work. Then i cant get it out and resetting won't fix it and im forced to reset the bios to get it to boot again... this happened to me and my friend with the same mobo so watch out! And i don't know how your liking it but i feel its a pretty average at best mobo, no particular reason, just doesn't feel that great to me.

200mm! very nice, ive only got a 180 at the back as exhaust, 120 on the side, a crappy 80 at the top and ive heard rumors of one being at the front of my case but i wouldnt know as i cant hear or see one .

ArmaII is a hungry game too, oh is it me or is being healed pretty much impossible in that game, they all run over to me flashing in blue, then do nothing and run off again...

Tell me about it! I love tactical team shooters, can't be beaten enjoyment wise. Ping would be in the 400's probably which just kills the fun really. And yea i just keep hitting those till someone finally comes to my rescue
