GTR2 settings
« on: December 28, 2007, 08:12:48 pm »
 Hey GTR2er's

I am trying to get up to speed with GTR2.

Where would one find the setting for: "Field of View" (what rfactor calls it). I can only see half the mirror.

   Car & Track download suggestions.

Best site you know (trust) for GTR2 info and stuff. Like rfactor has "central".

I missed todays Fest race (morgans) cause of the mirror problem. I need to see or else I tend to get nervous.

For field of view you need to hold down Ctrl and the left mouse button. Then move mouse forwards or backwards.

And like Cato said go to No Grip.

If you assign look left/right buttons to your wheel, you can always get a snap view of the mirror.  Also, there are .plr tweaks to change the field of view, as well as the ctrl/mouse combo.  As for cars: the Power&Glory mod is awesome; there are a number of mods which allow single class racing (BMW Z3 challenge/Gillet Challenge/M3 Challenge/Morgans and so on; McLaren F1 is very nice; Corvette C6 is lurvely; new Audi R8GT mod is one of the nicest mods i have (awesome sounds... bit if a handful); Porsche Super Cup; too many to mention, really.  As for tracks... well the sky's the limit; some very nice tracks out there, and some not so good.

However, before adding any mods, i would back up your standard install.  I currently have 3 installs of GTR2; "standard" (except for track add-ons) which i use for SJ; "Modded" which has all sorts installed, and is often used on public servers where they are racing M3 Challenge or whatever; "Power&Glory" which is dedicated to that mod only, and allows for the terrain patch to be permanently installed.  Just rename the .exe (in my case, i have standard"GTR2" "GTR2 Modded" and "GTR2 P&G".  Then simply send a shortcut to desktop form each of the .exe, and you can launch each version independently of the other.
