GTR2 Problems
« on: November 12, 2007, 06:33:43 pm »
Hi all

  • I have just done a reinstall of GTR2.
  • I have also put in the SDNDTG.DYN file in the gtr2 folder.
  • I have not patched it...yet
  • I have installed the Nordschleife track
  • It is locked

The reason I did the reinstall was because the tracks were locked. I thought it might have been because of the update (patch) I had done. No such luck.
I have placed the SDNDTG.DYN in the gtr2 root folder. Have I placed it in the wrong spot? (E:gtr2/)  I checked a lot of the files and cannot find which file contains the championship info. . It seems any new track I install has the same problem (I could be wrong on that).

I have checked the cheat sites to no avail, as stated I read most of the files in the game itself and can't seem to find it.

Any help would be appreciated as I am at the wall.

Thanks
Dale

make a new profile AFTER you put the SDNDTG.DYN file in the gtr2 folder.

if you use a profile made before the file was put in there you will still have things locked  ;)

hope that helps out bud if not come back we get ya sorted

I'll bet you a shiny sixpence you have 'hide extensions for known file types' ticked in your folder options and that you really have a "SDNDTG.DYN.txt" file in there rather than "SDNDTG.DYN"
Another one of the more ludicrous SP2 changes. If so, remeove the '.txt' and you should be  :gtg:

Hey Guys, thanks for answering.

  No difference with new profile. (I didn't bother setting the wheel up for the new profile if that matters)

  I have full view (folder) options (one of the first things I do with new installs, that and single click ).

:?:  If I could find the file (like with the caterhams in rFactor, you have to change the championship points [in my case I set 2,000,000 to get the "good cars" heh heh])

 :hats off:
Thank you again for helping.

it should automatically give you all the tracks with nothing extra done

all i can suggest is you grab the file from our downloads http://www.simjunkies.org/Forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item170 afresh and replace the file you already have ...........it worked for me right off when i reinstalled the other month when i was setting up multiple GTR2 installs  :)

A tricky problem for sure then...

~time passes~

Post your SDNDTG.DYN file up here as an attachment to your post Dale ... let's see how it looks in a different medium.

Man, the forum chuck my last letter, Pierre61 I tried to attach that file forum said the file's name is already used. What a freakin Day

Giz, I did as instructed (I had earlier actually) and replaced said file. Made another new profile and  notta.

It is only happening with the tracks I install (they're in locations folder). There is no text in the circut select screen. There is a blank spot at the top of the list. When you click in that area a track outline appears to the right and says locked. When you click on unlock it takes you to the championship select screen

I can race the tracks in legends and rfactor so no big deal. I love the stangs there in GL (Nordschleife). Monaco's the other one.

Thanks again for being there

              Dale

PS: I am going to try the attach again. I changed it to: "Newname_SDNDTG.DYN"

If it's just one or 2 tracks that are locked, maybe there are problems with the tracks? Try working backwards. Start with a bone stock GTR2 install. Do the all tracks patch, check to see that stock tracks are open, then put one add-on track at a time in till you find the problem track. I would do the same with any car mods added also.

The nurb tracks available for GTR2 are pretty buggy in my experience. I dumped the one I had because it liked to CTD. Dutch Devil is working on a fresh conversion that should be a treat. It's supposed to be out soon.........

Excellent suggestion Steve. Everything DID seem to work right before I installed those.

Thank-You
