Well as always good fun fellas thumbs up

Really struggled to get the setup right for this one and carrying 70kg didn't make it any easier :)  I settled on softs on the front and mediums on the rear for the race, which in hindsight was probably not the best.  Was able to only get a few 10ths better laptime in qual than i could with a tank full, but was happy to sneak third in the last lap of qual :)

WD to Phil for taking Pole, and I was right behind him on the grid with a good line to turn 1.  Phil stuttered a bit off the start and Ray in 2nd looked to get bogged down and Rocky was squezzing in between us all so had to lift off the throttle a bit but managed to move into second after the first corner.

The first stint was great fun with a gap of about .6 to Phil in front and a gap of about .6 to Rocky behind :) After about 10 laps my fronts started to go off and ran a bit wide to let Rocky through.  Sitting third into the first pit I managed to get out in 2nd and was running pretty well, but the car felt very different, with less turn in.  Hit the rumble strip on the inside of turn 1 and went around.  silly arse WD to Phil in missing me,  thumbs up I tried to stay as left as I could while spinning at 150 kmph rofl.

So back to third and that was where I stayed until the end, barely hanging on with my fronts going off and Ray closing in fast.

Good fun guys, see you at Surfers next time  :salute:

It was fun racing guys! Very happy to get a win on home soil! :)

I was a bit concerned going in because I hadn't done a lap before I got on the server, right before qualifying. I was glad to not be on max weight and I was glad to see that there was no rain. I got 4th in quali. I could have gotten more out of my best lap, but I was content with row 2. I got a good start, while Ray did not do so. I sqeezed by him and was in 3rd in turn 1. It was pretty much nose to tail in the first stint for the top 4. Brake, Nod, me, Ray. I got by Nod when he took too much curb going into the corner at the end of the long straight. Brake started to pull away at the end of the stint. Brake, Nod, and I pitted at the same time on lap 15, as well as Frank, who got to lead for a few seconds. lol I got out first to my surprise, but I was still in 2nd because Ray pitted earlier. Brake and I were nose to tail at the end of the second stint and we caught up to Ray right before he pitted. The other 4 of us pitted again and this again I got out much earlier and had about a 10 second lead. I kept the lead to the end of the race. I was thinking after and during the race why I was getting better pitstops. It must be that the Saleen gets better gas mileage than the Lambos. We must have put the same amount of laps in, but the gallons/liters must have been different.

Cya at the last one!  thumbs up

My first race with you guys in GTR2 and what a blast it was  thumbs up

Surprisingly i got pole, surprisingly because i have never gone this fast before

Bogged down at the start but still kept the lead, was pushed most of the way during the first stint by Nod, had me really sweating to not make a mistake. Went into the pits with a 2.5 sec lead but came out with a deficit of about the same amount and in 3rd. Bloody slow pit guy came on and told me to cut the engine after i had done it, so i panicked and accidently started it up again.  :grrr:

I think it was the 2nd or 3rd lap out on this stint and Nod spun in front of me at turn 1, i was going to go left but at the last moment i went right, and got a slight bit of contact with him, which didn't affect the condition of my car, but it would come back to bite me later on. Put my head down and tried to catch rocky, put in a few fastest laps and  caught right up to him at the end of the stint. Got right into his slipstream on 1 lap on the back straight and had a go at out braking him and it looked like it would be real touch and go there for a second if i decided to fight hard for it but i backed out at the last moment to avoid a collision, didn't want it to come off badly and affect his championship.

Time for the last pitstop and forgot about the contact with Nod at the start, so the team went into repairing the car when it didn't need it :grrr: thats what probably cost the win for me as i ended up finishing only 4 secs behind Rocky, even though he was probably coasting at the end.

So roll on Surfers another favorite of mine.   lol

Don?t think I will drive in Surfers, its beneath me, what a shit hole, I?ll never forgive you Frank,  Surfers, give me a break.

PS: Will GTR survive 2009?

For me definitely  :yep: ....

GTR 2 has still some more and important features as GTR Evo/Race07...and it`s the base for Power & Glory Mod too...

And there are several more Mods and tracks out there that keeps this game GTR2 intersting...
I would like to see a longer break til next year...but i also want to have some Fun-runs like enduros (maybe we should do another Nordschleife-enduro), Mod-Testing runs or new Joker-events in the meantime...

I would be disappointed if we turn off the engines completely til next year...

We can discuss that all after the season...first we have to finish this one... :hats off:

So cu all in Surfer`s paradise...(and you too Ray!!  :knockout: )

Yeah I think it can be one of the best series for 2009.   thumbs up
There are some great drivers that we have seen, :yep:  it is just a matter of finding a time and day that suits everyone, and perhaps spicing up the season a bit so we can get them all to race for most of the season.   :salute:
