There is a note to read the readme carefully before installing.  So take care. :)

I've requested permission to host these files here for you guys that aren't registered at NG.  Just waiting for a response.

I was informed that these are more of a '4th' party add on.  I guess they may not be an actual part of the P&G mod in the future.  (Disclaimer: that's speculation on my part.)

I think I'll just wait for the next version of P&G.  :)

But they are there if you are interested.

Yeah I had a look at those files the other day. It looks like a bit of a messy install routine and not actually anything to do with the GTLW crew.

Also, there is no clear mention of whether it totally replaces the original GTR2 menus or whether you can switch between the two depending on whether you're running P&G or GTR2. The menu screens do look good and give a period feel more in keeping with P&G era but on balance I think I'm with Marcus on this.

If you install them and then find you don't like them, you may have fun trying to uninstall them cleanly and revert back to the original GTR2 menus. Just a thought. Of course if you had a GTR2 installation specifically to use with the P&G mod, then I suppose it would be fine in that case.

While I think about it, for anyone who practices P&G offline and is irritated by the extremely slow E-Type Jags - there is a fix for it. It's a small file and I can send it to an admin for inclusion in the downloads section if required. Ari has kindly given permission to host it here.

Note: The E-Type fix will need to be installed on any server hosting online games. Otherwise I'm given to understand mismatches will occur. This also means that if the server is running the fix, anyone wishing to join a P&G race will have to have it installed too.

Thanks Ian, But I was just starting to feel "superior" when doing an Offline race including the Jag E-type, so much for my "ego candy". Does this mean I have to learn how to drive? Awhaa jiggleshit, I admit it- I can"t and most likely won't ever learn how to run as quick and consistant as our local "Aliens", but it will always be fun as Frankin/stien lets me know he's ready to pass when he starts laughing as I approach the upcoming "curve" with the "Long Nose", he seems to enjoy others "miscues" with driving the "E"  rotfl  thumbs up
it's a tough job eh' Frank.  :hats off:

Drivin' by Gump  :twit:

I have the menu mod installed on my bespoke P&G installation and I love it .. as Tim says, it does add a period feel to the whole thing :)

I have the menu too, on my P&G GTR2.  It does give it a nice retro feel, and also differentiates it from the normal GTR2.

You need to make sure you only use it for a bespoke P&G install though, cos there are menu items in the standard game that aren't available in this menu mod.

Also...  It makes a bit of a mess of your GTR2 dir.

I think some of the graphics are a bit shoddy too (not in a good way!), and some of the text from the menus bleeds over the edges of the layout.  On the whole, it looks nice, but it could look a whole lot better.
