GP 79 mod
« on: February 26, 2009, 12:19:45 pm »
I downloaded the other day a GP 79 mod and had a bit of playing about with it. I must say I really like it. Anyone else tried it and if yes what are your impressions ?

here a link http://www.virtualr.net/f1-1979-for-gtr2-10-released/

This mod is original made for rFactor and we have had leagues form it here at SJ not long agao.

The mod is very good in rFactor, but I have no idea how it is for GTR2. Nor am I to find out me thinks.

Is the conversion allowed really?

I understand that it is a none-profit made mod for rFactor, but I still do not like the way things get ported to GTR2 and GTR-Evo without any questions asked.

I might get in a double morale question here myself since I wanna have all GP4 tracks back to rfactor.... :occupied:

I think the guy who converted it to GTr2 had permissions and gives full credit to the original mod creator, have to double check.

Oh and I got that for Rfactor as well :)

Got this a few days ago; has permissions of the original developer.  Not as complete as the rFucter version, as you only get one style of car, rather than the track specific versions/liveries, but looks a lot better on GTR2 (IMO).

I downloaded the mod and the readme talks about installers but the zip file has only folders and no installers.
I hope I get everything in the right place. :?:

Really like the idea to have the tracks they used in that year

Anyone fancy a little go this afternoon, have a 2nd pc and could install a dedicated server but not sure if  got enough bandwidth:(

dunno , time maybe around 8 ?

And track, I would prefer one of the GP79 tracks , which one I am not really fuzzy about as I dont know any of them good  lol

I will then start installing a dedicated server and then maybe see how it goes

got a server running now, called it Simjunkie Fun GP79 and password is the usual off league one.

Track is Jarama http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=17252

Have a look at it if you like, not sure about performance though, guess my upload is not high enough so I put it to 14 people for now as recommended and have a look what happens

Hey Wulf man, can you set it up without a password?  I'd like to see if I can invite some GTR friends that are not sj members yet.  Or just make a more general password for us.

Thanks!

Got no tires. Well they must be there but you can't see em.

I think you can change stuff in the .plr,  but this is the install I use for leaque and I didn't wanna do that.

Any ideas or am I doing a new install?

You can perhaps make a second driver/player with it's own PLR with the line (in GraphicOptions) wheels visible in car (or something like that) set to 1 instead of 0.
Eats a bit of fps but perhaps not on your rig.

I have changed the line in my "show wheels in cockpit" line in my .plr, and it doesn't seem to affect other cars (ie only applies to open-wheelers)  :)
