Unfortunately we had a smaller field for this one, but the racing was great, a very fast flowing track with some demanding sweeping turns. A track which turned out ideal for the big thumping high powered cars.  

Race 1: Elan: Qualy P2 after the restart. Caspar got a lightning start and jumped past Michael and I into the lead. I had a few wobbly moments early, and Jack slipped by leaving me to have a good dice with Steiny's Jag for a while   . After a few laps, I finally found my rhythm and started closing on Cas, who looked to be chewing his tyres with plenty of drifting. With a couple of laps to go, I slipped inside Cas through the first section of the large chicane, but as we went into the next right hander side by side, Cas tail let go a tiny amount and tapped me, unsettling my car, but I managed to save it from sliding off. Phew! No problems Cas, just a racing incident   .   I then decided to back off and follow Caspar home for P4, rather than put us both at risk again.  Grats to Michael, and WD to Jack and Caspar.

Race 2: E Type: Since I was the only non V8 car, I expected to trail the field this time behind all the GT40's, Daytona's, and Corvettes.   Qualy P7 (others must have had boo boo's). I managed a great start this time, straight into the back of Caspar who didn't do his lightning start this time. Sorry Cas, but I think I gave you a handy nudge / catapault   .   As expected, I had a lonely race, but due to others having problems, I ended P5, which was a bonus against so many higher powered cars. Grats to Dion and WD to Brendon and Jack.

Race 3: GT40: Decided to go for some power myself this time, hoping I could keep it on track (no experience in this beast)    . Qualy P4. Again, Cas blew past off the line as I gingerely eased the power on, I wasn't sure how it would react. I took a little time to get the feel of this monster, and probably held Michael up for a bit (sorry mate)    . Cas went very wide giving me an easy pass into P4, and I followed Jack for much of the race until he got out of shape, giving me P3. However, a couple of laps later, I copied Jack's mistake in the same turn and went off    , giving Jack his spot back again. Followed Jack home for P4, probably didn't do justice to the speed of the GT40   , but it was a fun drive for me. Grats to Steve (three races, three different winners again), and WD to Dion and Jack.

Thanks to those who turned up, it was good fun again.  

Well i knew from pre race times and research that i had my work cut out for me in the ole GT350... More than usual.. Managed to get it around the track in 2'15.1 which compared to well everyone else.. wasnt nothing special but i challenge anyone to lap the shelby faster!! haha.

Anyway qualified 6th i think and got a half decent start, Steve did a lovely burnout in front of me but got carried away and shot into the fence? i thought i may have hit you but watching the replay i was definetly clear. Run upto the 1st corner was promising and i was sitting in about 4th or 3rd but i was on the outside and i didnt take the best line (incase people were on the inside) and that resulted in me loosing every place i gained off the start and finding myself back in 6th again. Proceeded to have a massive battle with Brendan in his ferrari and it was really hard to pass him as my shelby was the same speed down the straight, but i had to brake earlier! never the less i managed to keep the pressure on and when he made a slight error i pounced and got past!. Then i spent the next few laps trying to run fast and clean in hope that stieny wouldnt catch me then on lap 8 or 9.. in the dieing stages of the race... he caught me... I wont bother typing any more.. just watch..

Race 2: Well we knew it would happen sooner or later... I was allowed only 1 precious drive in my beloved GT40 and well im glad to say i gave it justice, 2'07.4 in the 1 lap qualify and consistent 2'07.9 - 2'08.3 in the race meant i was able to win. Really enjoyed the race as i always love driving or sliding the GT40 around. Awesome car and wish i could drive it more often!

Race 3: Again decided to pull out a decent car as it seems everyone else was driving the good ones so out came my season car bigger brother! the shelby Daytona Coupe!!, oh my what a wonderful car this is too!. Had high hopes of a 2nd Victory as while Jack was in the mighty Cobra i was sure i had what it takes to beat him or at least challenge for a good fight. The new guy picked the GT40 and i didnt think anything of it... So then when i ran a 2'09.9 in my 1 lap qualify and saw that my position was 02 and not 01 i thought who the hell did a lap faster than that?? So i went back to the garage expecting Jack to have nipped me by a few tenths only to see the new guy in the GT40 had ran a 2'08!! Wonderful time mate and sadly i had no chance to run such a time in the Shelby DC, even if I choose the cobra it would have been hard to get close to that!!.
Anyway i had a nice start and got ahead of the GT40, i thought i might be able to battle him and possibly hold him behind me but sadly the GT40 even makes the shelby look slow in a striaght line and he just walked on by down the back straight. Managed to keep ahead of Jack (just) through out the race and i was waiting for a mistake that never came from Steve!. Wonderful drive mate congrats!!

Well done to the podium placers in the races!! Michael for another great win in race 1!! im starting a petition for some bricks to be added to that TVR of yours  

Lovely track this is, remember it from practicing in the 911, but not showing up for that race..



First race i had a bit of trouble with what the boundaries where on which corners.. specially the last one... doh! Tight in, fast out.. where as the first corner coming after that start/finish straight is fast in slower out..   So i pulled an "Azza" on the boys  hahaha with the E-type it was a blast to drive here, to torment Dion was even more striking! hahaha


Second race and i was out in the Cobra as i thought i could earn some merit in that one on this track.. and i was right.. i earned a disco before i was well underway... thought i had a chance to get a good fight going, be it a fight for horsepower on straights.. as the corners, well.. the corners were pretty much sideways in the cobra.. felt very sweet and stable the setup i had for her... ah well.. horsed around on the forum a bit whilst you boys did the promises 9 laps and heard someone say , i'm gonna switch cars.. then i finally realised your race was over and the server had been set to practice again.. doh!


So Strapped on the GT350 and.... was nowhere to be seen. Was great seeing someone every once in a while, Bill kept me company for most of the race, untill his evil TVR bit him again.. hahaha.. he got by me in one of the last laps, but i still tormented him with the presence of the GT350 till the line.



Great racing everyone, fingers too tired to type, so a lill report this time.

Well it was good to get back on the track (although I spent most of the time off it anyway )

R1 - Had the mighty GT40 and put together my only good lap of the night in Qualy and gained my first ever Pole Position  - however as Nod had issues we restarted the weekend and my second attempt ended badly in T1........

I had by far the best car for this track but I consistently outbraked myself at the end of the straight - much to Dions delight - I think it was from the excitement of actually passing a car with the tag "Dion Holzheimer" on it that caused me to crash so often.... Needless to say it took me to the 4th or 5th lap to get a clean one in and by then I was long last - put a little bit of pressure on Bill the last lap as I caught up with him, but unfortunately the start / finish line came up too soon.

Race 2 I took the Daytona and again had a poor Qualy.  Spun a few times and then my connection dropped totally - took a while to get back on the net so I flagged race 3.

Bit more practice methinks - although I really do not have the time anymore to get a decent amount of laps in.

Was fun though and thats all that counts - hope to see more at Monaco for the NSU TT's
