So Cato was the only one with a good aim?!    (and use the toilet!?)

Oy Frankie.. I managed to haul my fat drunken arse out of the tent and hurled on an object that wasn't sentient... that's pretty good going in my book.

There's one thing I wish I HAD recorded that weekend;
After Pete's fierce discussion with the flowerbed he went back to bed where , 50cm from the head that THOUGHT peace would return soon now, Pete made breathing noises in his sleep that would be awardwinning at any grunge festival...VERY funny.

Right, on behalf of Sh1te i challenge Pete to a dual  :draw: next time we put them in the tent together and see who snores the loudest (hope the tent can stand it) my money is on Dave, at the GT race at Silverstone the guys in the Vette pit asked if he could keep it down because they couldn't hear the engine AND WE WERE TWO MILES AWAY  o:

It sounds like a very good idea to me also.  As well as giving the slower and newer racers the option to drive car classes that they are better able to manage, it adds a challenge for the aliens.

They will no longer just leave the slower guys behind until the very last laps.  Because there will be slower CLASSES of cars as well, it is likely that the fast guys will come up behind the sooner, requiring that they be not JUST fast, but fast in slower traffic.

That may help ensure that no one or two or three drivers totally dominate the entire race. Driving through traffic inevitably slows even the best drivers, allowing for gaps to be closed, and positions to be traded.   :)

Just thinking out loud here.
What gives new drivers a better start, drive in an all TC65 race or in an all classes race where they can find there way arround while being screamed by by gready regulars in their GTC76 monsters and get lapped 4 times.
Just a thought. lol

Yup, hear what you say there, Cas.

I remember, in the first SJ races, there being lots of TC65 races, then we moved onto the more challenging cars.

It's obvious, but I hadn't really thought about it till Giz brought it up.  We do need some TC65 races for the applicants to get their feet wet.  Like others have said, I couldn't get the Alfas round the track when I first joined up here, let alone the Capris!

As a nooby to GTL, I can give a comment about getting my feet wet like this.
My first race on-line with GTL was the Goodwood event. It was the perfect intro for me because I was able to avoid the embarrassment of punting the others off track by using something controllable (good ol Mini). I was also able to mix it with others and didn't end up lonely at the back. And lastly, I really enjoyed seeing the big guys blast past (or off into the boondocks too  :excellent:) so it gave me the incentive to learn to drive something quicker.

So I reckon it's a great idea for us learners.  :raver:

Goodwood was great fun! exactly like we did; 3 (or 4) short races
with 3 (or 4) classes.

but to include that kind of event in are season (points), everybody
must drive each classes once, calculate a general standing for that
event.

but i'm not sure i'd like to run all classes all the time :dunno:

monotype and car vs an other is fun too...

I'd really like to do an all classes race every 2 weeks, let's do a cocktail! :toast:

Good call Warren, thanks.
But there are also people coming in who don't have the driving experience you have in other sims and are not already a fast driver like you.
Don't get me wrong, it's all fine by me but I wouldn't want to scare new peeps off who are relatively new to online racing in general.

I also see how fast new drivers adapt to SJ races in GTL and other sims (watch for Tysie guys!) and the old crew also makes a great effort to make all drivers feel welcome and give them time to get aquainted with our events.

I too remember well how nervous I was both in close racing and looking out for fast guys that came to lap me in the beginning of my SJ life. I made mistakes anyway and got sorted out soon haha. It just takes some time, as I now experience in RACE....

All in all, let's give the mixed races a good chance since it must be a lot of fun and we'll see how it is for new drivers eh?
Frankly, I can't wait, haha.

Caspar.

Hi Guys, was wondering if its possible to attend ESJ league races if I am in NAGTL league, My weekends are open for the time differences, would this be acceptable? I am very much open to idea of using slower class car as long as the Aliens dont object us lower life forms being obsticles in their path.
