Fun run suggestion - Bathurst revival
« on: October 10, 2007, 01:26:32 am »
Since I'm staring to feel like part of the furniture here, I'd like to throw up a suggestion for a fun race. I'm keen to learn GTL, I love the Bathurst track, I love Mini's, and I'm an Aussie  :abso-bloody-lutely:
So here's the idea:
A Bathurst TC65 reunion, eg. Mini's, or Mini's and Cortina's, or even all TC65 cars?
These cars dominated the Bathurst races in the 60's, and since we have just had the big V8 Supercar event at Bathurst last weekend, why not do it again but in the old classics. Err not the full 161 laps though.

A second thought might be to try using GTR2 with the P&G mod, but I don't really know much about it yet.

So, what do others think?

I'd be in depending on the time of day here in the eastern time zone of canada (GMT -5).  I love the Mini, and Bathurst too, though I've never driven it in GTL. I know it only from Toca 2 and V8 Supercars way back.

Yeah, if it's on a weekend, I'd love to do it. GTL or P&G, doesn't matter.

Was there a race there last weekend?  I saw some video on the news here with a kangaroo hopping around a racetrack and what might have been Aussie V8's trying to avoid hitting it!   o: Pretty good job they did m8!

suggestions as to when this can be run

Friday 26th October  :?: reason GTR2 season ends this week so can delay start of next season to run this

Sunday 21st October  :?: reason this Sunday is last of the RPM challenge races so that Sunday is clear

December we will be taking the usual break from League races over the festive season BUT i was intending some fun runs so this could be one of them and could then be run on a Saturday   :?:

Probably doesn't help the decision making, but I am ok with any of the above. If you name the date and time, I'll be there and revving.  :ty:

the  Friday 26th October  option  is out as the GTR2 final race will have to be rerun then so it would be  November 9th
