mental idea

how about a random number generator for sprint races !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how would it work

alfa = odd number

cortina = even number

before race 1 you log in to something, then hit the random number generator, the number is then tied to your username, this selects the car you have to drive in race 1.

i know it's not practical.

Is that an oblique reference to Nutbush City Limits?  Bit too subtle for me!

Yep the Motopark has a grid problem, the track maker said that someone added more grids to GTR2 version but never contacted the guy, he also said that the same fix should work for GTL. I could try to contact him if you really want to keep the track?

EDIT:well i had a look and it requires editing couple text files, but also measuring the places for grids in 3d simed because its not straight but theres the turn, so someone else has to do it ive got too much atm... all game editing i wanna do atm is to try to finish my classical porsche model :)

it isn't really a problem if we keep the track we can always do a split race like we have to do with cadwell for GTL if to many join we just divide the pack between 2 servers
it just depends on how many are racing that day lol
or it can easy be dropped i have allowed for a couple to be dropped if needed  :salute:

repeat of post in ISJ thread about next season and is just as relevant here

over the next week is the final chance to sort out any misgivings about this next season once i set it AS the season it will be stuck to no matter what so read and be sure your happy with the lineup
http://www.simjunkies.org/Forum/index.php?topic=3977.msg48213#msg48213

please bear in mind it is no use just saying a race won't work
please state why
also come up with a valid replacement that will work

bear in mind season 3 all the fuss and bother about the long beach race

long beach, there were complaints like mad about that race about how wrong it was it was even postponed to the end of the season ............i don't remember anybody giving any replacement races for it so i decided to run the event.

 anyway again there was moaning and groaning about it again with no valid replacement offered

YET it was on average the best finished race of the whole season out of 34 laps of racing made up of 2 17 lap races with 17 drivers in race 1 and 16 drivers in race 2 there was only 1 DNF and 1 driver only did 1 of the races

 i heard quiet a few comments on how much people actually enjoyed the racing even though they thought it was wrong
yes it was one hell of a tough race and was a potential disaster in the making but you guys proved you are capable of doing such an event  it only gets boring to keep running the same old easy tracks/cars we have come a long way in the time we have been together and we are capable of this sort of tough race

so when making your mind up about a certain track/car combo take into consideration YOU ARE ALL capable of doing the tough races as well as the easy ones

there was some awesome racing in the ISJ the pack was kept fairly close including the  :quote: alien  :quote: drivers i feel this sort of even can only improve all our racing skills and tactical racing

We already will race CSL on Donington National as last race of this season (this monday), a bit boring to race it again I think?
Spa / GT40 combo is already done twice before...

So my proposition is: Donington Nat or GP (I would prefere GP) with GT40's and Spa with the CSL.

Ah, maybe we could add an Italian track? Enna Pergusa 2003 (GTR2) or Imola with Capri's?

Donington and Spa noted and changed for now
my only thing different on them changes is possibly do the 911 at spa rather than the BMW

i don't want to add more events if possible BUT  Motopark is a possible problem grid size so how about  Enna Pergusa 2003 (GTR2)   Capri's? to replace it ?

Capri's at Enna, nice!

911 we already have for Brno. Why no CSL at Spa? I like it

I agree, CSL on Spa is fine. 911 is not really that well suited for Spa, but CSL neither in fact  rotfl
But like Caspar said: we already have a race with Porsches  :)
