ESJ Next Season 3
« on: June 01, 2008, 12:41:31 pm »
 Just a few thoughts for the next ESJ season.

I wondered due to the popularity of Alfatina it might be a good idea to run an ESJ Alfatina championship but with a twist.  To make the lower ranks more competitive make the top 5 championship winners from season 2 use the Cortina's and the lower ranks get the marginally more competitive Alfa's OR even better make the top 5 use Mini's and 6 to 10 Cortina's and the rest Alfa's. This I believe would make for a really close championship giving the new guys some close racing with the experts.

What do you think  :?: :?: :?: :?: or am I just an arse.......dont answer that 2Sheds.

sorry but Season 3 is already sorted and waiting to run :jawdrop: http://simjunkies.org/Forum/index.php/topic,8423.msg109149.html#msg109149

is a nice idea but personally i feel copying the alfatina will take the fun out of things ...the reason the alfatina i so popular is it is Pure fun for everybody nobody is running for pure points as there are none :nose: and the time it is run opens it up to the runners that run
making a league event on the same format i don't think would work the same

Yep, I won't copy the approach of AlfaTina or OSJ too.
I wonder why to punish people who raced most of the ESJ races like Cobra or Jack next season? Why only the first 5 and not 6 in the championship :nose:  :innocent: Guys like Dion or Rik who didn't compete much would have the fastest car available then... so sorry to say but I don't think the idea would improve ESJ GTL. Like GizMoTo said: Season 3 is already sorted and is looking all right.  :salute:

Sorry Giz I didnt mean to piss on your chips  :sorry: Its just that I feel the guys running down the field must get a bit dispondant. Only 12 entries in last nights race there used to be around 20 runners a while ago.

:) There seems to be a lot of American hard to drive metal next season.  lol

ESJ GTL is classic!  thumbs up

Personally I think we have enough bright new ideas running and several ways to get good racing for all, Alfatina, GTR2Arse, OSJ, SJC, STCC etc etc. it's all VERY well thought out. Congrats to the admins.  :hats off:

is not a problem bud no offence taken at all .......it is always good to get idea but i do try and not run league using other leagues idea  so there is a difference for the runners  ;)

ESJ like all the other leagues always drop off runners nearing the end of the seasons  as people do  loose interest this is one reason i run points for every body that's run, i made the mistake of the reverse points for drop-outs
next season I'm dropping the reverse points for dropping out of the race and just giving points as per time that people manage to run in an attempt to slow down the drop off drivers ............so if you run a race with 15 drivers  and you drop out 1st you will still get points for 15th place  as long as you start the race {means more work cos i have to watch replay if people don't finish 1 laps cos they don't show on the analysis as started lol} this with a bit of luck will encourage people to stick with it as the season unfolds

I used to run GTL-ESJ every week - back when we only had a couple of leagues running...  But now there's so much other stuff going on here, I can't always find the time to practice and take part.  So it's not despondency for me.  Just so much fun to be had and so little time to have it in!
