Topic: Won't let open the "All cars cheat" for GTL (Read 808 times)

I've installed GTL, but it won't let me open the file because it doesn,t recognize it. It's as follows: TG2001.DYN. It takes me to where a list of different places to get it, but I'm not buying any software just to open this file. Uniblue, IBM No idea what to do or get to make it open. HELP!!!!

no need to open the file just put it in your GTL root folder

Where is the "GTL root folder"? I don't understand where in the GTL folder is that? Game data, user data, do I just drop in on the main folder that is GTL?

yeah m8. you are right. the "root folder" is the root directory of GTL. meaning the folder where you installed GTL.

just open it and drop it in there.

the default is C:\GTL

O.K. its in, so when anyone says "root" folder or Directory, that should be my "MAIN" folder? Will that work for the download for all the SJ cars to play online, or do I have to put them in the specific car folders? The tracks I'll do as they are posted for racing. Thanks again guys, and sorry for being a pain in the ass.

Yeah root meens main.

sj carpacks are Jarkko installs i think.
Just click install where main dir is and you should be fine.

I got the carpacks installed, and I can get to where the servers are, I saw both SJ servers so I tried to get into Goodwood #1(downloaded it)So I went to join to see if it would work, but it says I can't join,track not installed. Tried on single player and it worked fine(it let me on the track) no problem. I put in "welcome" for the password online, I can't figure what I'm doing wrong. When I tried the other SJ sever(which also says Goodwood) it says theres an error and goes to desktop. I need a smoke and a beer.

That means you don't have an add-on track installed mate. Confusingly, rather than telling you which track you have missing GTL just displays the last track you raced instead of the one on the server.
If you look in the 'Information Centre' you'll see which track is really being hosted and therefore which one you need to grab from the downloads section.

It says both servers for SJ are Goodwood, And it will play on single player for me? :grrr: but when I go to play it it says not installed when it is. I looked in my locations its in there.

O.K. got the Goodwood to work online(thank God) I downloaded Oscherleben(all 3, checked locations folder to make sure) but when I go to join that server it CTD. Tried 3 times, unreal. But at least I can get into Server#1. I need another beer and smoke.

Good news.

Hopefully you should be back on track with whatever you want. if it CTD just reboot your machine(meens turn off/on rotfl rotfl )
Should fix it.

Ahh... Oscherleben is one of the GTR2 conversions. There's a file you need to install to GTL to get them to work. There's a thread somewhere around here about it.

I found it, and downloaded it, and confirmed it was in locations. I don't get it. All 3 are in. Tried 3 times, it goes to the load scree and starts loading and then CTD. Hmmm Didnt see your last post NTF will reboot and retry.

Oscherleben needs some extra files you have to install these files to HERE.
