Setting Autopit to Off
« on: January 06, 2007, 11:26:13 pm »
In order to avoid GTL's useless AI drivers from causing accidents during pitstops, it is recommended that you make the following (highlighted in orange) adjustments to your PLR file.

Remember to back-up the file before making any changes.

After making these changes, it is a good idea to practice a few pit-stops off line.  Remember, you'll need to use your Pit Speed Limiter to avoid being penalised for speeding in the pit lane, so it's a good idea to map it to a handy button.

 :)

:?: What about this bit..... Pitcrew Push="1" // When out of fuel in pitlane, allows pitcrew to push car (use throttle and gear selection to direct) might be handy eh Steiny

i have that set so they do push  only ever had to use it in off line racing once when i ran out of fuel just after i entered the pits and it works by pumping the gas pedal you move forward very slowly all the way to your pit to get your fuel ......... the cars is a bitch to restart when i had fuel as it would be in real life something they actually got right but is little used lol

 wow, that's interesting...!

right now I have autopit = on, just for ease of pitting....but am considering switching it: I was in an online race & could read the chaos in the chat window when 2 people w/autopit collided in pitlane LOL

You want to have that off m8.
you do not wanna cause trouble in pit lane during a race... So get on it buddy :D
Actually it is easier to pit manually. :)

In one of our first league races here at SJ I was bumped off my pit spot by someone who had autopit on with the result that I had to do another lap to get my pitstop done... I still remember it and it happened 3 years ago lol

Lol yeah.. he was THAT pissid off! hahaha

Anyways.. Umma, if you have a bottle handy or a glass.. you can replenish it, OR have the bottle on your mouth before you have all the fuel and tires you need... i manage it, and i'm 6"2

But there is a  certain flair about doing those pits yourself, more evolved... we're lazy BEFORE and AFTER the race.. not during. hehe

Just make sure you practice your pitstops a couple of times, it might be confusing on where to park, use practice and quali for it m8ey
Hope to meet you on track tonight... roaring spins in the V8's on suzuka!
