P&G tracks ok???
« on: January 11, 2009, 02:26:14 pm »
Downloaded a world of GTR2 tracks last weekend for P&G, just wanted to know are these tracks ok to be copied into my GTL locations to use online in GTL?

May seem super obvious to you guys but I dont want to do a thing to mess up my GTL folders!!!

gtr2 tracks won't work in gtl. you can down load gtl versions of most tracks though

Yup. They're pretty much the same either way. (seems to me, many are converted from the rfacor versions for both.)

But you need to use GTL tracks for GTL and GTR2 tracks for GTR2.

Plenty of both here, and you can also see a lot at NoGrip and the Altbierbude.

I heard you need a lot of space..lol

Not sure how the automated works.

I just spent a few days (at the time) and downloaded track by track as some are updated and if they were I didn't bother with the earlier versions.

I haven't a clue if the automated downloader takes this into account.

 Anyone?

Of course I did the same with GTR2 and rfactor also and of course have nowhere near the time to try them all but in all 3 cases burnt them all (still zipped of course) to dvd so I have them as I need them.

Altbierbude downloader is a thing of beauty! Simplicity.  I have a list of 215 tracks that are in a queue to be downloaded, very slowly, and only 5 at any one time.  It could be running in the background for a week.
Very very helpful.
Will need to save up for one of those a1 racing chair jobs and get a G25 to justify all the hard work everyone else has put in.

They store into a back up file zipped but the program automatically unzips them and puts them into your locations folder.
Just leaving it work itself thru the list.   They have done very well.

Grinn.. so that means in the end you know jack sh*t about installing tracks, or finding errors in your directories?...

if one track is flunked, you'll find out eventually... hehe... always learn the filestructure of a game, nomatter what.

But it might indeed be a handy tool (also for spamming your harddrive.. hahahah)

Steiny is very right. I have a separate install just for SJ. It only has the mods for here and nothing else.
